TACTICAL POLICE PERFORMANCE OFFICER LEVEL III
WEIGHT TRAINING FOR POLICE
Burgess Auditorium
Mattoon, Illinois
February 13, 2018
8:00 am – 12:00 pm
This course is ideal for police officers who are actively utilizing (or planning to begin) a weight training program specifically geared toward law enforcement officers and police fitness instructors who instruct weight training for their departments or agencies. Many officers perform exercises that have little to no impact on job related performance tasks.
This course will educate officers about weight room safety and correct exercise technique (and selection) to minimize training injuries and maximize police performance. In-depth discussions and practical demonstrations of weight lifting techniques and program design to improve police specific performance will be addressed. Program and exercise modifications based on gender, age, activity levels and past injuries are addressed in this course. Methods taught will help to reduce injuries that are common to the profession, such as those to the rotator cuff, knees and lower back, and improve police performance on the street.
Tactical Police Performance Levels I & II are pre-requisites for attending the course unless approved by Police Kinesiology Instructors prior to attending.
Mini Assessment:
Immediately following the course, anyone interested will be able to have a 'shortened' version of the assessments we do for all our personal training clients at NO CHARGE. The full assessments usually take an hour to an hour and half and cost from $100.00 to $150.00. The“mini” assessments will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending upon how many officers want to take advantage of thisopportunity. The “mini” assessments will be able to give yousome general feedback about some of the imbalances we addressedin both TPPO Levels One & Two, as well as reviewing exercises you can do to help remediate some of these issues.
