Government Projects Work Group Meeting Minutes

May 2010 Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

Joint Meeting with EHR and PHER WGs came to order at beginning of 3rd Quarter on Tuesday. The EHR WG minutes are the official documentation of the Govt Projects WG discussion on progress with the Health System Domain Reference Model Project, under joint sponsorship of the 3 WGs. Steve Hufnagel, Alean Kirnak and Nancy Orvis provided overview and presentation regarding the project. The ArB asked Steve H. to draft a new project plan based on the SAIF work done within the Health System Domain Reference Model. The reference architecture makes use of other HL7 work done by the HL7 HSSP and the HL7 EHR-S Functional Model, as well as the SAIF

The Government Projects SIG is expected to meet again in a joint session Tuesday Q3, and alone as a WG at the October 2010 Working Group inCambridge, MA. At that time it is expected that new project(s) will be submitted for consideration per input from the FDA co-chair.

The GP participates in a joint session re the Health System Domain Reference Architecture

Steve Hufnagel provided overview and presentation regarding the DoD Healthcare SOA Reference Architecture initiative. The reference architecture makes use of other HL7 work done by the HL7 HSSP and the HL7 EHR-S Functional Model.

Information Sharing Discussion

Participants shared information about current HL7 initiatives and potential upcoming new activities.
