VII.EditorialPolicy

Thesubmittingauthorisresponsibleforobtainingagreementofallcoauthorsandanyconsentrequiredfromsponsorsbeforesubmittingapaper.Itistheobligationoftheauthorstociterelevantpriorwork.

Authorsofrejectedpapersmayreviseandresubmitthemtothejournalagain.

VIII.PublicationPrinciples

Thecontentsofthejournalarepeer-reviewedandarchival.ThejournalInternationalJournalofKnowledgeEngineeringpublishesscholarlyarticlesofarchivalvalueaswellastutorialexpositionsandcriticalreviewsofclassicalsubjectsandtopicsofcurrentinterest.

Authorsshouldconsiderthefollowingpoints:

1)Technicalpaperssubmittedforpublicationmustadvancethestateofknowledgeandmustciterelevantpriorwork.

2)Thelengthofasubmittedpapershouldbecommensuratewiththeimportance,orappropriatetothecomplexity,ofthework.Forexample,anobviousextensionofpreviouslypublishedworkmightnotbeappropriateforpublicationormightbeadequatelytreatedinjustafewpages.

3)Authorsmustconvincebothpeerreviewersandtheeditorsofthescientificandtechnicalmeritofapaper;thestandardsofproofarehigherwhenextraordinaryorunexpectedresultsarereported.

4)Becausereplicationisrequiredforscientificprogress,paperssubmittedforpublicationmustprovidesufficientinformationtoallowreaderstoperformsimilarexperimentsorcalculationsandusethereportedresults.Althoughnoteverythingneedbedisclosed,apapermustcontainnew,useable,andfullydescribedinformation.Forexample,aspecimen'schemicalcompositionneednotbereportedifthemainpurposeofapaperistointroduceanewmeasurementtechnique.Authorsshouldexpecttobechallengedbyreviewersiftheresultsarenotsupportedbyadequatedataandcriticaldetails.
