Introduction

Thank you for buying our USB to SATA adapter! This Hi-speed USB 2.0 Device is your friendly. Secure and lightweight removable mass storage device disk enclosures. Computer will quickly detach and configure the disk without restarting when connected with the enclosure thru USB cable. You can do everything you like as using a disk driver. Since it can support large capacity disk,and the enclosure is so light and compact that you can carry it with you anywhere. It is so easy to install that u can actually use it as your Backup device or replace the ZIP drivers or MO drivers. This manual will help you install it properly.

Hardware installation

  • open the top cover of the enclosure
  • connect your enclosure with the IDE hare disk or SATA hare disk with the IDE cable or the SATA cable in the enclosure
  • close the case and connect the enclosure to USB port of your computer with USB cable

Once you have connected the enclosure with hard disk in it to your computer, computer system will assign a drive letter to the device and usually designate it as a removable disk.

You can work just as you work with other disks and floppy diskette and the Safely Remove Hardware icon will appear on the windows taskbar to remove the product properly.

To make sure that the device is installed properly, please do follow:

Start -> Control panel -> System -> Device manager. And then go to the Universal Serial Bus Controllersand click the "USB mass storage device" item.

You should better connect the Hi-speed device to the Hi-speed USB2.0 port. When connect to a non Hi-speed USB2.0 port, there an alert message appeared on the taskbar telling you about it. Though you can continue to practice, it will run at a lower speed.

Unplug the product properly

You must click the "Safely remove hardware" icon on the right of the taskbar, if you want to stop the product and then there a direction telling that the USB Mass storage device can now be safely removed.

In Windows 2000 or Windows ME, when you unplug the device without according to the above mentioned rules there a warning message showed that you removed it without stopping.

It this may cause your computer to crash or lose some value data.

Also do not unplug the enclosure when the read/write LED of is still on.

Software Installation (only for Windows 98SE)

USB enclosure usageunder Windows98SE requires the USB Mass Storage Device Driver:

  • Turn on your computer and boot to Windows. Load the driver CD or diskette enclosed
  • Run SETUP.EXE from driver disk (if it has not started automatically) and follow the instructions
  • Wait until setup has been finished. Then click "Finish" button
