Dear Commodity Processor,
The Long Island School NutritionDirector’s Association Cooperative Bid has 48school districts that are currently combining their volumes for bidding purposes on Commodity Processing.
We would like to provide information to our directors and staff about commodity processing, for the2017-2018 school year. We have scheduled a Product Evaluation Seminarregarding commodity processingprior to theRegional Industry Seminar hosted by the New York School Nutrition Association. The date will be Thursday, December 15, 2016 from11:00 am to 12:30 pm at: Long Island Marriott Hotel

The Product Evaluation Seminar will only be open to the members of the Long Island School Nutrition Director’s Association Cooperative Bid participants from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm. The exhibit will be open to those manufacturers processing USDA commodities through use of school district entitlements. If you are exhibiting, you must be registered with NYSNA on the form provided.
Manufacturers will be able to present only those items which are part of the direct diversion program for commodity foods.Following this part of the seminar, at 12:30, all (commodity and non-commodity) exhibitor tables will open for all other Long Island and NYC Directors as well as the Co-op bid participants. We have enclosed a form for you to return no later than Friday December 2, 2016. You must register with NYSNA in order to show products at the Seminar.If you are an approved commodity processor, please e-mail the completed L.I. form to .
This information will help the directors determine what items are acceptable and if they will be added to our bid process. All of the districts will be given surveys to use with the manufacturer’s name and product information to evaluate.
