job purpose:
Suicide Prevention Australia’sCorporate & Community Relations Executiveis appointed by, and accountable to, the Head of Communications for the management of SPA’s community champions and special projects.
The Corporate & Community Relations Executive has responsibility for the following:
  • Developing and coordinating current and future partnerships with companies and communities engaged in suicide prevention awareness and fundraising ensuring deliverables are met
  • Support development and implementation of National Suicide Prevention Research Fund engagement and business development strategy to enable increased and sustainable investment in suicide prevention research
  • Management of community fundraising, including memorial gifts, workplace giving and general donations
  • Creative solutions to strengthen SPA’s income diversity
  • Other additional duties that are considered by the Employer as reasonable based on your position and the Employer’s operational requirements
This includes coordination and monitoring of funding supporters for SPA, ensuring that fundraising processes are streamlined. The Corporate & Community Relations Executive will liaise with third party suppliers including fundraising platforms, creative agencies and corporate and community stakeholders to ensure ongoing alignment between SPA vision, purpose, strategy and areas of responsibility detailed in the annual operating plan.

  2. Support Research Director to develop and implement a Research Fund engagement and business development strategy
  3. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community supporters by responding to enquiries and liaising with individuals to provide event support to assist them in achieving their fundraising goals
  4. Develop and maintain workplace giving program
  5. Support the CEO in planning and monitoring partnerships for national conference and other events

2.Resource development and Management / 15% /
  1. Respond to requests from community stakeholders to participate in fundraising
  2. Monitoring and update website, community fundraising toolkits and resources adapt as required
  3. Identifying and contributing to funding partnerships for SPA core functions and SPA projects
  4. Review and assess grant opportunities and develop proposals as required

3.Budget planning and analysis / 5% /
  1. Development and management of community fundraising budgets, including managing cash-flow
  2. Reporting to CEO on progress toward, and barriers to, financial targets
  3. Implementation of administration and management information systems to support accurate and timely budget planning and analysis

  3. Maintaining appropriate records in accordance with SPA policies & procedures
  4. Update website relevant to the SPA and its projects.
  5. Attend internal and external meetings as required by the responsibilities of the role or for the benefit of SPA as required by Head of Communications or CEO
  6. Other duties may be assigned based on the needs of the organisation as determined by the CEO and the employee’s available time

This is a full-time position with no paid overtime. However, where agreed, additional hours required in the course of work may be taken as time in lieu.
The area is well served with public transport.
New appointments to Suicide Prevention Australia undertake a 3-month probationary period.
Duties will be those outlined in this position description.
Direct costs incurred in the course of your prescribed duties, such as mileage (other than to / from work) & parking will be reimbursed upon presentation of required documentation.
You will be paid on a fortnightly basis into your nominated bank account retrospectively.
