Criteria for Specification of LED arrays proposed by DIGITALEUROPE

1- 1- Physical specification supported with a picture of LED PWB

- size

- dimension

- structure

- shape

- design

- usage

- type of connector (connection diagram)

- with or without printed circuit board(PCB) and size of PCB

- with or without heat/thermal sensor

- with or without lens and lens’ light diffusion rate

- other components mounted if any (such as PAD, plastic holder, marker,…)

1- 2- Optical specification

- chromaticity (colour)

- brightness (min &max)

- ageing characteristic (change of brightness &hours)

1- 3- Electronic specification

- forward voltage

- current

1- 4- Annual volume needed/produced

2- Additional factors to be considered

  • LED Array’s specifications should be reliable enough to meet manufacturers’ internal standards.
  • Their quality should comply with manufacturers’ internal regulations, and the suppliers need to get certificates after going through the audit of production process.
  • LED Arrays’ light diffusion and inner-structure should match manufacturers’ system.
  • Suppliers should show that they are clear with any patent issues.
  • Suppliers should provide data about every component’s quality distribution and deviation.
