CHURCH NEWS

All Young People are asked to meet in front of church after the morning service for a brief meeting regarding our schedule for the year!

MEN’S LIFE: Men’s Life Bible Study begins its new season this Saturday, September 19, and then meet thereafter on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. Breakfast begins at 7:00 a.m. but is not mandatory. Our study starts at 7:30 and runs to 8:30.

If you are attending for the first time please contact Jack Wieringa [ (219) 365-1868 or email no later than Wednesday, Sept. 16 to order a book and if you plan to join us for breakfast. If you are 18 or 118 you are cordially invited to join us and believe that you will benefit from both our fellowship and study of God’s Word.

My family and I would like to thank all those who prayed and sent cards in the passing of Paul into glory. We’ve been blessed with a caring congregation and pastor. Wilma Lindemulder

Vance and Danielle Venhuizen’s new address; 2343 Hickory Drive Dyer, IN 46311

Men's Society will not be meeting for the 2015-2016 season. The Elders encourage Men's Society participants to attend the Men's Life Bible study.

Today we will be collecting food items for the Lansing Food Pantry.

Our next fusion meeting will be on September 13th. The topic is entitled "Christians and Capital Punishment," and the discussion will be led by Josh Nymeyer. We will be meeting at Amanda Wieringa's house located at 8123 Howard Ave. in Munster, Indiana. Fusion is a group for post-high to 30-year-olds. We also have a facebook page and we would love to have people join it!

Dorcas Bible Study, September 16 at 7pm, Dan Ragusa will be leading our Bible Study, women of all ages are welcome. Study materials are in the basket by the mailboxes.

The 2015-16 Sunday school year will begin TODAY, September 13, 2015, directly after the 9:30 a.m. service. All children, aged 3 years old, by September 1st, through 4th grade, are welcome to participate. If you have any questions, please contact Janita Talmadge at .

LADIES' NIGHT OUT-----Tues. September 15, @ 6:30p.m. at Cottage on Dixie (Homewood, IL) Please contact Mary Bush to reserve your seat by Monday, September 14th. Love to have YOU join us!

If you plan on attending Heart to Heart women's Bible study on Wednesday mornings, please meet at the front of church after the morning service to sign up for the BRUNCH which will be held SEPTEMBER 16. We also need the moms of children ages 0-4 to sign their children up for Little Lambs or Nursery. If you are unable to come up after the service but would like to sign up please contact Laura Bruinsma.

The nursery committee will be compiling the 2015-2016 nursery schedule over the next month. We are looking for willing volunteers to assist us with caring for infants and toddlers each Sunday. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the covenant children of our church which does not require a great deal of your time. On average each volunteer helps 4 times a year which is approximately every three months. Our volunteers can begin to help us with the toddlers already in 4th grade. If you would like to be added to the nursery schedule, please let Sarah Yonkman or Penny Smit know. Every year we lose a few college students from our volunteer list as well as seminary wives, so it would be awesome if we could fill those spots. If for some reason you are unable to continue your service in the nursery, please let Sarah or Penny know that as well. Thanks again for considering helping us and a special thank you to those who faithfully serve from year to year!! We truly appreciate your generous heart and willing hands that care for the little ones of our church!
