MiCRM Release Notes – Minor Versions

Version Number (including build no.): 1.9.126(build 494).

This version replaces 1.9.125 (build 426-430). The next version to be released will be 1.9.127

Release date: 13th April 2011

This version of MiCRM contains new functionality and bug fixes.If you are upgrading from 1.9.124 or earlier you must read the 1.9.125 notes on reporting configuration if you use MiCRM reports.

This version introduces a new user group called ‘All Users’, in order to support enhanced tasks security and provide a basis for future functionality.

Please Note – you are required to upgrade the MiCRM XML Importer to build 494 after installing this release.

New and Enhanced Features

The following feature improvements first appear in this build.

Enhanced security on tasks / Individual tasks can optionally be locked down so that they are no longer visible to all user in the system, but just to a given user group. / Bespoke improvement.
Ability to re-use recorded emails / When viewing recorded emails, a new button will place a copy of that email (with attachments) in your Outlook drafts folder. / Customer request. Allows you to forward an email that wasn’t originally to/from you.
Contacts added to a distribution list via the ‘overview tab’ now show contact and primary organisation details in the distribution list. / In previous versions, where a contact is added to a distribution list from the contact overview tab, only the contact’s name has been displayed. Distribution lists have been enhanced to show both the name and primary organisation of a contact added via the overview tab. / Customer suggestion.
Duplicate checks where a contact is added to a distribution list via the ‘overview tab’. / When using ‘contact overview’ to add a contact to a distribution list, a check is automatically made to ensure the contact is not already a member of the list. / Customer suggestion.
Contact/Organisation Relationship Tags. / When editing contacts/organisations, the name of the relationship tags boxes have been changed to ‘Unallocated Tags (click to add)’ and ‘Current Tags’. / Customer suggestion.
‘Known As’ field can be exported. / The ‘Known As’ field for contacts can be exported with distribution lists. This field is renamed at some sites as it’s used for a different purpose. / Customer request.
New task copy functions. / Completed tasks can now be copied without having to re-open the task. Open tasks can now be copied and the ‘complete and copy’ option is retained. / Customer request.

C111982 / When editing a contact/organisation, validation fails if they have been created and the phone number has not been set to primary. / If there is only one phone number available, MiCRM will now assume this is the primary record and set the tick-box.
C112020 / Putting a colon in group names causes the ‘view links’ link to stop working. / This issue has now been resolved.

Call history / Unable to copy and paste text to and from the ‘project description’ box on the ‘overview tab’ within a project. / The paste option is now available by using the right-click context menu, however if the text exceeds the maximum length of 1024 characters, the text will be truncated when the user moves on to the next field.
C112117 / When manually adding contacts to a distribution list, only the contact name is shown. / Distribution lists have been enhanced to show both the name and primary organisation of a contact manually added.
C112123 / Exception error received when editing opportunity products. / This issue has now been resolved. The product was being incorrectly referenced.
C112135 / When a distribution list has expired it still appears on the overview page of the organisation/contact. / Membership of expired lists will no longer be displayed on the contact/organisation overview tab.
Various / Advanced contact search could crash when using address search. / Problem traced and fixed.
C112110 / Sites using Google maps could potentially suffer a crash if updating an address on a record. / Problem traced to address location updating, which supports the map.
C112008 / Organisation link being lost on opportunities / Problem traced and fixed.
C111984 / The incremental number custom data field wouldn’t work on tasks. / Tasks now support this field.
C111941 / The mouse-over in contact/organisation search results could breach the security of ‘private’ contacts. / The mouse-over now checks the privacy status of records.
C111917 / With Exchange integration enabled and meetings (appointments) with multiple attendees, the system would send spurious meeting updates. Updates can also overwrite other changes. / Unnecessary meeting updates suppressed. Exchange/Outlook will always send its own updates if a meeting organised in Outlook is updated.
C111880 / Users who were assigned to no user groups at all could still access the system. / The system will now be largely unusable for a user in this state.
C111595 / Creating a project from a template with completed tasks did not set the ‘Actioned’ date on those tasks. Things failed to make sense as a result. / Actioned date will now be set in this circumstance.
C111572 / Potential problems using contact merging at sites not using Exchange integration. / Problem traced and fixed.
C111493 / Copying emails templates in the bulk mailer would not correctly carry over embedded images to the copied template. / Problem traced and fixed.
C111483 / Task search results could be badly laid out if the task description included complex formatting, e.g. tables. / Search results are now protected from alteration of layout.
C112214 / Custom data text field is limited to 900 characters. / There is now no limit to how many characters can be written to a custom data text field.
C112204 / Where account management has been removed from a contact, but they are still marked as private, the private checkbox becomes hidden. / The system has been altered so that when account management roles are removed and the contact is still marked as private, this checkbox is still available to the owner.
C112195 / If more than one grant holder is required, the process to add this is not user friendly and information vanishes. / Grant holders can now be added successively without information being lost.
C112193 / Issues with MiCRM running in Google Chrome. / Minor amendments have been made, and future work is planned to support Google Chrome, however currently our recommendations are to run MiCRM in Internet Explorer 7 or above.
C112185 / Issues with project template tasks being included in Active Centre ‘My Tasks’ count. / This issue has been resolved.
C112082 / Some issues with permissions in projects have been highlighted. / These areas have been investigated and updated.
