GANG OF AUTO LIFTERS BUSTED : 3 ACCUSED ARRESTED AND 11 STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED

With the arrest of 3 auto lifters, staff of PS Neb Sarai, South District busted a gang of auto lifters and recovered 11 stolen vehicles and worked out 11 cases of M.V. theft so far.

ACCUSED ARRESTED :

1.  Vipin Kumar (24 years) s/o Hari Singh r/o Mulla Colony, Village Kulesra, PS Suraj Pur, District Gautambudh Nagar, UP.

2.  Mahesh @ Monu (28 years) s/o Sultan Singh r/o H. No 6/303, L-1st, Sangam Vihar, New Delhi.

3.  Rakesh @ Kabari (27 years) s/o Mangla Singh r/o Village Badi Kotar, PS Korsa, District Murena, MP.

BRIEF FACTS :

On 04/10/11, a team consisting of ASI Lala Ram, HC Manohar No. 170/SD, HC Rama Krishna No. 505/SD, Ct Lakha Ram No. 1027/SD, Ct Sampat No. 1903/SD, Ct Ravi No. 3209/SD, Ct Virender No. 1171/SD, Ct Sohanvir No. 1654/SD was conducting checking of vehicles at Bandh Road Picket, Sangam Vihar under the supervision of Inspr. Jarnail Singh, SHO/Neb Sarai. During checking, two boys namely Vipin Kumar and Mahesh @ Monu came on a Motor Cycle bearing Regn. No. DL3S BQ 3345 (Hero Honda Passion). The picket staff signaled them to stop for checking. When they were asked for the documents of the motorcycle, they could not produce any document rather tried to mislead the police party. On verification, the motorcycle was found stolen from the area of PS Neb Sarai and wanted in case FIR No. 241/11 u/s 379 IPC. Accordingly, both the accused were arrested for further interrogation.

INTERROGATION :

On sustained interrogation, accused disclosed that they were going to Agra to dispose off the motorcycle to one Rakesh Kabari, who is also their associate and used to receive the stolen vehicles. They also disclosed regarding their involvements in several cases of M V thefts in different areas of Delhi. At the instance of accused persons, 3 more stolen motor cycles were recovered from different places. During investigation, their associate and receiver of stolen vehicles namely Rakesh @ Kabari was also arrested and 8 more stolen vehicles were recovered at his instance. Accused Rakesh disclosed that he used to receive stolen vehicles and further dispose off them in parts.

1.  Vipin Kumar (24 years) s/o Hari Singh r/o Mulla Colony, Village Kulesra, PS Suraj Pur, District Gautambudh Nagar, UP has studied up to 8th Class. He works as electrician in Noida and Delhi. He is married and has 1 child. His father is working as a helper in a factory in Noida.

2.  Mahesh @ Monu (28 years) s/o Sultan Singh r/o H. No 6/303, L-1st, Sangam Vihar, New Delhi is a school dropout. He works as helper on goods carrier transport in Shahibabad, UP. He is married. His mother is working in Anganwari in Delhi. He is previously involved in case FIR No. 248/07 u/s 399/402 IPC and 25/54/59 Arms Act PS Sangam Vihar.

3.  Rakesh @ Kabari (27 years) s/o Mangla Singh r/o Village Badi Kotar, PS Korsa, District Murena, MP is a school dropout. He works as electrician in Agra, Gaziabad, Noida and Delhi. He is married and has three children.

ROBERS ARRESTED WITH

LOOTED MONEY

With the arrest of five accused persons, South-East District Police have worked out a sensational robbery case of Rs. 9.5 Lakh and also recovered Rs. 7.62 Lakh. The motorcycle used in the offence has also been recovered.

Incident

Sh. Vaidnath Prasad (48 Years) reported that he works as a field officer with M/s North Delhi Beverage Pvt. Ltd., Nirankari Colony, New Delhi and on 5.10.11, he left Kinley Mineral Water Depot, Jasola Vihar with another employee namely Ramesh Pratap Singh on a two-wheeler scooter. He was carrying Rs. 9.5 Lakh, few cheques and his PAN Card etc. in a black bag. When they reached opposite Salcon Auram Building in Jasola Vihar, three persons came on a motorcycle and obstructed their way by stopping their motorcycle in front of their scooter. The pillion rider wearing blue T-Shirt snatched his bag and fled from the spot. On his report, a case vide FIR No. 254/11, U/s 392/34 IPC, PS Sarita Vihar was registered and investigation was taken up.

Investigation

Several teams were formed by Sh. Vijay Kumar Singh, SHO/Sarita Vihar, under the overall supervision of Sh. Bal Krishan Sharma, ACP/Sarita Vihar. The initial investigation indicated that there may be some insider behind this crime. Working on this line, a police team conducted enquiries at Kinley Water Depot, Jasola Village and obtained a list of absent and former employees. The scrutiny of list was done and it was found that one Vinod Kumar was a former employee of this company and his brother Sajan also works as a driver in the Depot. Interestingly, Vinod Kumar was seen by someone around the Depot in the morning with two other persons. His brother Sajan had also reported for duty in the morning, but later he was found missing. Search for Vinod and Sajan was taken up.

A team headed by Sh. M. R. Meena, Inspector (Investigation), comprising SI Rajender Singh Dagar, Ct. Ashok, Ct. Mahender and Ct. Satish was immediately dispatched to Jhunjhanu (Raj.) at the native place of Vinod and Sajan. However, the duo did not reach there and the team came back to Delhi.

Several raids were conducted at various possible hideouts of Vinod and Sajan in Delhi and, finally, the efforts of the police team bore fruits and Sajan was apprehended with Rs. 50,000/- who confessed to have been involved in this crime with his brother Vinod and two other associates namely Manish and Mukhtiyar. He further disclosed that his brother Vinod had made the planning to loot the company’s cash. Vinod had asked him to inform by phone when Vaidnath was about to leave the Depot with company’s cash. Accordingly, he had passed this information to Manish on cellphone when Vaidnath was leaving the Depot with cash along with Ramesh Pratap Singh on a scooter. After the incident, his brother Vinod has given him Rs. 50,000/- as his share.

Subsequently, Vinod and his associates Manish and Mukhtiyar were also arrested from their hideouts and part of the robbed amount was recovered from each of them. Vinod has disclosed that since he had no job to earn his livelihood, he was in dire need of money and had planned to loot the company’s cash about 2/3 days prior to the incident. His friends Mukhtiyar had managed an old motorcycle to be used for committing crime and then escaping. He further disclosed that when they were distributing the booty amongst themselves, one Jai Prakash @ Babbu, who is known to them, came there and threatened to call the police if he was not given a share from the booty. They had given him Rs. 50,000/-. As such, Jai Prakash was also arrested and for extortion and receiving/keeping ‘stolen money’ in his possession.

In this case, all the five accused persons have been arrested and Rs. 7.62 Laks have been recovered along with the motorcycle used in the crime. However, further investigation is still continuing and the police officers who worked day and night to solve this case are being suitably rewarded.

Profile of Accused Persons

1.  Sajan, S/o Gumana Ram, R/o Village Gudda Paunkh, District Jhunjhanu (Raj.) Age-25 Yrs. He is a driver in the said company.

2.  Vinod Kumar, S/o Gumana Ram, R/o Village Gudda Paunkh, District Jhunjhanu (Raj.) Age-22 Yrs. He was a labour contractor in the company.

3.  Mohd. Mukhtiyar, S/o Mohd. Lal Babu, R/o Village Rupan Patti, PS Doli Shakra, District Muzzafarpur (Bihar), Age-25 yrs. He runs 10/12 tempos in Jasola.

4.  Manish Thakur @ Manik, S/o Rajender Prasad Thakur, R/o Village Chharmiri, PS Amdabad, District Katihar (Bihar), Age-24 yrs. He is a tempo driver.

5.  Jai Prakash Singh @ Babbu, S/o Rana Pratap Singh, R/o Village Lakhwa Pakad, PS Belghat, District Gorakhpur (UP), Age-35 yrs. He also works as car driver.

Inter state Robber Arrested : THREE CASES OF ROBBERY SOLVED

With the arrest of an interstate robber namely Rishi Gowala @ Vipender Singh @ Sushant s/o Sh. Gulla Gowala r/o Villange Jhanjhipara, PO Fatapukar, PS Raj Ganj, Distt. Jalpaigudi, West Bengal, the Central District police have solved three broad day light robbery cases in which incident took place outside the banks.

INCIDENT:

On 19.09.11, one Ram Chander, an employee of a businessman at Beadan Pura, Gurudwara Road, Karol Bagh had gone to HDFC Bank, Gurudwara Road, Karol Bagh for withdrawing Rs. 5 lacs. The bank official called the owner Mr. Amarjeet Singh for identifying the bearer of the cheque. The owner came in the bank and as he had to go for some other important work, he handed over Rs. 2 lacs to Ram Chander and directed him to go to office after withdrawing Rs. 5 lacs from the bank. As soon as Ram Chander came out of the bank with money, two persons riding a black color pulsar m/cycle robbed him of the bag containing Rs. 7 lacs and sped away. Consequently, a case vide FIR No. 130/11 u/s 392 IPC was registered at PS Karol Bagh and investigation was taken up.

POLICE TEAM:

The police team was formed under the supervision of ACP Karol Bagh led by SHO Karol Bagh, Inspr. Satender Mohan (Inspr. Spl. Staff), Inspr. Brijesh Mishra (ATO Karol Bagh), consisting of SI Vimal Kumar, SI Pramod Anand, SI Satender Kumar, HC Brij Pal, HC Shailesh, HC Manoj, Ct. Kamaljeet, Ct. Devender and other staff.

INVESTIGATION:

During the course of investigation, several teams were formed in this case. The employees of the businessman were interrogated and the local criminals of the similar modus operandi were also interrogated but no clue could be ascertained. Further, on scrutiny of the CCTV footage of bank and of the market area, it was noticed that the persons who had robbed cash were standing outside the bank and were talking on mobile phone and at the same time, another person present inside the bank was also talking on mobile phone. Further details of these phones were verified and it was revealed that these phones were got activated only on 18 Sep 2011 on fake ID at a hotel address in Aarakasa Road, Pahar Ganj, New Delhi. However, the police team managed to get the photographs of the user of the phone who was the same person in the CCTV footage of Hotel, Bank and Market Area. During further investigation, the locations of the mobile phone were established in Jalpaigudi area, West Bengal. A team was sent there. The team deployed sources and collected local intelligence. On the basis of the inputs collected, a raid was conducted at Village Jhanjhipara, PO Fatapukar, PS Raj Ganj, Distt Jalpaigudi alongwith local police and apprehended one person who was identified as Rishi Gowala @ Vipender Singh @ Sushant s/o Sh. Gulla Gowala. The mobile phone used in the incidents was recovered from his possession.

INTERROGATION

After arrest he was put to sustained interrogation and he disclosed that he alongwith his four other associates had arrived in Delhi in the first week of September 2011 and had stayed in a hotel in Gaziabad near Railway Station. Before boarding the train, they had booked their two m/cycles from Jalpaigudi to Delhi. They took the m/cycles and kept them in parking. They bought few mobile phones alongwith SIM cards from the area of Pahar Ganj, New Delhi on the basis of fake IDs and committed three different robberies in Delhi near banks in a series.

During further interrogation, he disclosed that on 19.09.2011 he along with his associates had come to Karol Bagh area on 2 m/cycles and had been roaming near Banks in search of victim. At about 01:10 PM he went inside HDFC Bank Gurudwara Road, Karol Bagh and noticed the complainant Ram Chander withdrawing huge money and informed his associates outside the bank, who in turn robbed Ram Chander of his bag carrying Rs. 7 lacs as soon as he came out of the bank. He also admitted to have committed other two similar incidents in the area of Okhla and Preet Vihar, Delhi.

Modus OperandI:

The accused persons belong to Gowala caste and residents of near Bangladesh Border of Jalpaigudi District, West Bengal. They have bought their own m/cycle on fake IDs at the address of West Bengal and Assam. They used to book their m/cycles for the destination where they were going to commit crime. They would go there and stay in groups of 2 each in different hotels without telling the hotels of each other. Then, they purchased new mobile phone and SIM Cards on fake IDs and parked their motor cycle in parking near Railway Station. They used to reccee the area and roam in search of an easy target near banks. One of them or sometimes two went inside the bank and the other two remained standing outside on m/cycle. The insider informed the outsiders who committed the crime and then both the parties used to run away.

Recoveries:

1.  Cash Rs. 99 Thousand of the looted money.
