TYROLIT is launching the world’s first EASY-TO-USE and cost-effective dry drilling system to revolutionize the processing of reinforced concrete.

Schwaz, Austria, September 8, 2015: TYROLIT is introducing the world’s first solution for easy, cost-effective dry drilling of reinforced concrete. The innovative dry drilling system consists of the DME19DP*** drill motor with soft impact function and the TGD® dry drill bits that have been specially developed for dry drilling. Selected partners have been benefiting from this revolutionary system solution since early 2015. Following excellent test results and positive customer feedback, it can now be purchased from all TYROLITdistribution companies and partnersworldwide.

Clean drilling of reinforced concrete

No water! No mud! No cleaning!

This innovative system, which comprises a drilling motor and a special tool, is set to revolutionize the dry drilling of reinforced concrete. For the very first time, the combination of the DME19DP*** dry drill motor and the innovative TGD® dry drill bits allows easy drilling of reinforced concrete without water, making it an additional, cost-effective and clean drilling solution.

The new dry drill bits featuring TGD® Technology are vital to the success of the drilling process for reinforced concrete, setting new standards with their intelligent distribution of the diamonds. “Our TGD® dry drill bits have proven their worth in a variety of situations, including decommissioning nuclear power plants. We’re not at all surprised that our customers on smaller construction sites also achieved excellent results,” says Sergiy Avramenko, Product Manager at TYROLIT.

TYROLIT is also scoring points with customers on the price front. Unlike other methods on the market this new system does not need any expensive, unhandy accessories such as air compressors. In addition, any conventional dry vacuum cleaner can be attached to the integrated vacuum cleaner connection. The drilling system can be operated as a handheld tool or mounted on the DRU160*** drillrig. TYROLIT also offers its customers a carefully compiled range of accessories, such as a handy centering aid and, for especially tough jobs, high-quality granules for resharpening during the drilling process.

Intelligent knowledge transfer

This development arose from both the current market trend toward dry drilling and TYROLIT’sproven solutions in the special construction sector. For controlled decommissioning of nuclear power plants in particular, experts usually opt for dry drilling methods, for example to avoid creating radioactive mud and waste water.
