As leader of the group you are responsible for the clients and the session supports working with them.

Ensure you are fully aware of who is in your group and their whereabouts at all times
When assisting with personal hygiene please make sure you are not alone.
Motivate and encourage staff & volunteers
Be aware of health and safety issues including the fire procedure
Report any incidents to Meriel or Phil and complete the accident book where necessary
To take part in the general tidying and cleaning of all work areas used.
To keep attendance register up to date and return any weekly client income to the office ASAP.
Communicate, delegate and most importantly, work as a team.
Leader to ensure that all weekly paperwork is passed to SNIPS promptly so that any messages can be
acted upon and money collected can be paid in. / CO-LEADER

GROUP SUPPORT
To be aware (through information supplied by the leader) of the medical requirements, characteristics, likes, dislikes and general behaviour of all the clients.
To communicate and work as part of team.
To assist with the planning and delivery of the timetable.
To Report all incidents to the Leader.
Be aware of health and safety issues including the fire procedure.
To encourage and motivate the clients in the group, but be aware of their individual limitations.
To be the 1:1 worker for a named client, should you be asked.
To observe that client at all times.
To inform the leader should you need to leave the client at any time.

To take part in the general tidying and cleaning of all work areas. / PLAY ASSISTANT
To work closely with other team members in a learning role, assisting in all aspects of child care and building practical experience.
Under supervision of more experienced staff, to meet the personal care needs of youngsters attending, including changing and toileting.
To interact with and offer support to children and young people attending the scheme, becoming familiar with them as individuals and encouraging them to participate in activities.
To ensure the health, safety and well being of the children and young people at all times, seeking guidance from other team members and reporting any incidents or concerns.
VOLUNTEER
To interact with the children and young people, offering friendship and support.
We do not expect you to take sole responsibility for individuals, nor do we wish you to be involved in any personal care or moving and handling of youngsters as this can present a risk to both yourself and to them.
Volunteers receive an induction and a small daily payment for the work they do.
Volunteers can be aged from 15 years upwards and our activities represent a good introduction to childcare in general and learning disability in particular.
