A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of Flora Lee "Sally" Bowers Dwyer.
WHEREAS, Sally Dwyer was born in Logan County on December 24, 1914, the beloved daughter of Ada Lee and Bishop Guyon Bowers; and
WHEREAS, Sally Dwyer had been a proud resident of Owensboro for 73 years until moving to Versailles to be closer to her daughter in 2008; and
WHEREAS, Sally Dwyer was a member of the Yellow Creek Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Sally Dwyer departed this earthly life at the age of 100 years old and entered the kingdom of Heaven on February 9, 2015, leaving her family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and
WHEREAS, Sally Dwyer was preceded in death by her parents and her cherished husband, James P. Dwyer. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Meece and her husband, Jeff, and Gay Dwyer; her granddaughters, Jennifer Montfort and her husband, Chris, and Jamie Kopp and her husband, Jeff; her great-granddaughters, Kennedy Laine Montfort, Lexie Paige Montfort, and Campbell Elizabeth Kopp; and her longtime best friend, Evelyn Newman;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
âSection 1. The House of Representatives hereby expresses its deepest and most profound condolences upon the passing of Flora Lee "Sally" Bowers Dwyer, and extends its heartfelt sympathy to her family, friends, and community in this time of loss.
âSection 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Flora Lee "Sally" Bowers Dwyer.
âSection 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Rocky Adkins for delivery.
