Name:

Hubcap Design Performance Task

Task

You are an industrial designer in a team designing a new car for a car manufacturing company.

You need to design a hubcap that will be used in a new car which the company hopes will appeal to young car buyers.

You need to show the steps in the production of your design so that the instructions can be fed into an automated metal cutting machine where the size of the wheel rim may be different but the designs will be the same.

Requirements for the task:
1. Demonstrate understanding of transformations (dilations, translations, rotations, reflections)
2. Design a hubcap that will be used in a new car which the company hopes will appeal to young car buyers.
3. Show the steps in the production of your design and the transformations needed to repeat your design.
4. Complete a self assessment rubric to show that it has been checked.
Requirements for the layout:
1. Complete the table showing snapshots of each transformation step in your design.
2. Clearly label and explain the transformations in your design.
Use this table to copy images of your design at each stage.
Remember to write what transformation is being shown at each stage.
Don’t forget to include the final design.
