CCSS YEAR 12 MATHEMATICAL STUDIES

Assessment Plan 2008

The course content consists of three main topics, which are as follows:

1.  Working with Statistics – 26 hours (7 weeks)

·  Statistics and Distributions, Inferential Statistics

2.  Working with Functions and Graphs using Calculus – 46 hours (13 weeks)

·  Functions and Introductory Calculus, Functions and Introductory Calculus, Differential Calculus, Applications of Differential Calculus, Exponential and Logarithmic functions, Integral Calculus

3.  Working with Linear Equations and Matrices – 26 hours (7 weeks)

·  Solving systems of equations, Matrices

Your final subject assessment mark (out of 100) will be determined by Skills & Applications Tasks (Tests, Assignments, Mid Year Exam): Weighting =70%; Portfolio (Directed Investigations and Projects): Weighting =30%.

Your textbook has revision exercises at the end of each chapter, use these to help you prepare for tests.

If you are absent for a test you will need a medical certificate, and be expected to sit a test for that topic at the next available opportunity. See me straight away in order to catch up on missed work. Seek help actively.
