Team Duties

Head/Asst Coach – Be a role model in all aspects of speech, attitude, and behavior. Be fair to all players regardless of ability. Be consistent in attendance of practices, huddle times, and games.Plan and organize effective practices. Ensure that participants and coaches are having FUN!! Use positive speech/words when coaching practices and games. NEVER show disrespect to officials and always address them in a positive and calm manner. Stress fun, skill development, and fundamentals.Winning is secondary to these priorities.

Manager/Asst Coach – The team manager will assist the coach in whatever manner the head coach requires. Some responsibilities include team communications, gathering needed paperwork required for Tournaments, and coordinating and tracking volunteer hours for your team. Will work with the association to help coordinate various team activities to include team pictures.

Tournament Duties

Setup – Will assist the board members with preparing the tournament fields prior to teams arriving. This consists of but not limited to ensuring that dugout canopies are installed, concession area is stocked and ready to go, Check-in and Umpire tents are setup and all dugouts are stocked with water jugs and cleaned.

Field Prep/Maintenance – will assist with the preparation of the fields before and after all games. Will ensure that the field is drug, that all lines are chalked and that bases and pitching rubbers are at the appropriate distance. Will make sure that each dugout has sufficient water and is cleaned prior to each game. Will ensure that all trash cans are maintained and that the portable restrooms are clean and have sufficient supplies. Also make sure that the umpire tent has sufficient water in their cooler. Check in periodically with board members for additional duties.

Check-in/Information Desk – Will assist with teams checking in for the tournament. Collect team rosters and direct coaches to where they need to be. Direct Umpires to the umpire tent located at each field complex. Will have updated schedules to assist with making sure teams are at the appropriate field. Will have blank umpire cards and will collect the complete umpire cards upon completion of games. Will make sure that Tournament Coordinator or any other board member receives completed umpire cards. Will be the lost and found for each location. Will ensure that the field prep crews are maintaining the trash cans and rest rooms as needed.

Concession Stand – Must be 16 years or older to work in the concession stand. Will be responsible for assisting customers with their orders and making sure the beverage coolers are stocked. Must be able to make correct change and maintain money box. If needed will get ice for injured players. Work with concessions coordinator to ensure that the concession stand is stalked and running smoothly.

Grilling – Must be at least 18 years old to work the grill. Ensure that there are plenty of hamburgers and hot dogs prepared for sale by the concession stand. Will ensure that the condiments area of the concession stand is full. Will make sure that there is enough propane for the grill, will inform the concessions manager when the spare propane tank has been uses on the grill so that a new tank can be bought. Will assist with clean up and tear down of the grill at the end of the night.

Skills Competition Coordinator – Assist with checking in and collecting money from players that want to compete. Ensure that the participants follow all the rules of the competition. Record the participants results and make sure that the association has the results at the end of the completion.

Clinic Coordinator – Assist association members in setting up the clinic stations as needed. Assist the association members with making sure that the High School players know where they need to be along with the teams participating in the clinic. Keep track of time making sure that the clinic is moving along as planned. Assist board members with other duties as necessary.

Game Night Duties

Concession Stand – Setup the concession stands as needed. Make sure that all of the candy, chips and beverage coolers are stocked. Make sure that there is a money box on location and it is kept in safe keeping. Make sure that the concession stand is cleaned up at the end of the night and that all chips and candy are put away. Make sure that all trash cans in the concession stand are emptied and any garbage cans at the field complex that need emptying are taken care of.

Umpire for 8U games – Umpires will keep track of pitches to the batters and be responsible for keeping track of outs and making rulings on plays in the field of play. Will be responsible to know the rules of the 8U league and ensure that all teams, players and coaches are abiding by them.
