Instructions on show card and asking Question Item # 5:
The SHOW CARD for Question item #5 should look as illustrated below. The question item is a poverty-self rating tool that has been developed and used by the Social Weather Stations (SWS). As a self-rating tool, the respondent is the one that evaluates whether s/he is poor or not.
When asking the question, the interviewer should merely state the question while showing the card; the respondent will point to either the upper or lower box in the card. Others will point to the LINE. This is also an acceptable response. However, the interviewer should not call attention to the line.
