My Curriculum Vitae

My name is Li Xiu Bin; I’m a Chinese born in Jan. 1975 in Shandong Province China.

In 1994, I attended the then Changwei Teachers’ College and studied in the History Department; I graduated in 1996 and became a teacher of english in a junior middle school. In 2002 I passed the exam that was aimed to select excellent teachers to teach in high schools; and I got the first place; since then I have been teaching here in my present school----the best high school in our county. I always teach senior 3 students.

As for my English there is no need to worry about; though I was a history major when in college, I’m a true English lover. Over these years I have almost spent all my spare time on the English study. As a result, both my written and oral English are far more superior to those English majors teaching here. They just can’t compare with me when it comes to English. In October 2006, I passed the National Accreditation Examinations for Translators and Interpreters (NAETI) and received the intermediate certificate for translators. This examination is jointly organized by The Chinese Ministry of Education and Beijing Foreign Studies University. This system is one of the most authoritive certifications for translators and interpreters in China. Only few people can pass the exam that I passed though many of the other examinees bear master’s degree for English. According to this certificate I can translate most of the materials in almost every field. And surely I can live up to what the certificate indicates. Apart from my regular teaching job, I work as a part-time translator for our local notary public office; most of the notarial materials here people need when going abroad for study or work are translated by me. Also I translate many kinds of materials for some local companies and sometimes for some government bodies. Recently I have just finished translating a book on falcon propagation (a manual on captive breeding) containing more than 60 thousand words.
