Shooting Club Manager
Job description:
As the Shooting Club Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the start-up, daily management and staff leadership of the shooting facility.
Your responsibilities will include hiring, receiving and stocking product, initial store presentation. The daily management responsibilities focus on safety, customer service, regulatory compliance and financial management. The coordination of programming will be an essential responsibility.
Overall Job Duties:
· Protect employees, members and guests by maintaining a safe and clean facility.
· Meet financial commitments by driving sales, controlling expenses and protecting margins.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations including: ATF, EPA, OHSA, local, state, federal and municipal.
· Recruit, interview, select, train, guide, and evaluate staff to support and grow sales/profits, and to provide outstanding service to members and guests
· Manage staff by following up on work results; coaching and disciplining. Maintain adequate staffing levels based on daily hunts and/or sporting clays activity
· Ensure accurate time-keeping for employees
· Maintain adequate inventory of retail merchandise, targets, birds, feed, and supplies
· Ensure compliance with all internal policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations
· Maintain the Company’s timekeeping records per company policy Be responsible for hiring and training employees and upholding standards of all safety procedures
· Be responsible for sporting clays course repairs, set-up, design, tournaments, and daily operations
· Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws and industry regulations
· Attend all required training classes, with certification of completion, and implement his/her gained knowledge in his/her job
· Address in a professional manner any guest and employee-related complaints
· Counsel and coach employees on work-related issues (verbal and written warnings)
· Promote outstanding member and guest relations
· Collaborate with our other department heads regularly for purposeful business planning.
· Manage facility and range operations; making decisions regarding service, following up on work orders, and ordering store supplies.
· Ensure adequate staffing based on business trends, seasonal, and other data.
· Oversee flow of inventory; make ordering and merchandising decisions for the store.
· Provide leadership to your direct reports (Office Manager and Shift Leads: Receiving, Merchandise, Customer Service, and Facilities).
· Create a climate within the store in which staff is motivated to do their best; share wins and successes; foster open dialogue of candor; and create a feeling of belonging within the team.
Desired Skills and Experience
· Three years of retail management experience or five years of related management experience.
· Five years of customer service experience.
· Computer proficiency to include POS, word processing and spreadsheets.
· High energy - when necessary, arrive early and stay late until the job is done.
· Superior customer service, problem solving, reasoning and conflict resolution skills.
· Effective planning, organizational abilities and attention to detail.
· Flexibility on work hours to include weekends & holidays.
· Must be able to meet Federal requirements to process firearms transactions.
