Biography Poster Guidelines

  1. The poster must be constructed on normal sized poster board. Half-Sheet (18X24) is preferred. No Presentation boards, please.

2.  The poster MUST contain a picture of your historical figure AND a one page written or typed report summarizing the important points of why your historical figure is important. (What did they do that we most remember? Include any interesting facts that you may find.) Be sure to include your sources for your information on a separate sheet behind the report. The report should be attached to the poster board.

  1. The report will be graded for content, neatness, spelling, capitalization and sentence structure.
  2. You may add other pictures, stickers, decorations or borders to your poster.
  3. BE CREATIVE and make your project look attractive.
  4. The overall poster will be graded according to neatness, content and accuracy.
  5. You will present your project to the class and you should be familiar with the information and be able to answer questions from the class. When you present your project, you should tell us about the person in your own words rather than simply reading the report to us. Important facts and details about the person’s life should be covered. If you would like to make notecards to organize your thinking, you may do so.
  6. Your presentation will be graded on your knowledge of the historical figure and your preparedness.
  7. This project is due February 1, 2013. No late projects will be accepted. This project is to be completed at home. You may go to the library to look for information and I will schedule one class computer day to visit the computer lab to search for information. You may use any other resources that are available to you at home.
