· Answer first day questions
Lesson Description:
· This being the first week, introductions to procedures, materials and policies as well as getting to know the students activities will take place. All projects and expectations will be discussed.

Wednesday:
Objectives:
· Pass out mural guidelines and discuss: Have students sign the expectations for acknowledgement
· Discuss ceiling tiles
Lesson Description:
· Students will research and design a mural for a spot in the school of their choice. Students will be responsible for choosing colors for, sketching the design on the wall for and painting the mural. Students will need to have the mural completed by the end of the semester.
· Students will get used to painting on larger surfaces by painting two ceiling tiles that somehow interact with each other. Students may choose where their tiles will be located when complete
Homework Given:

Thursday:
Objectives:
· Use the internet and various other sources to research ideas.
· Draw or trace their chosen ideas onto a ceiling tile
· Mix paint to create desired colors
· Demonstrate painting techniques such as blending
· Demonstrate a high level of craftsmanship
· Complete two ceiling tiles with a unified theme
· Draw / sketch and color a design for a mural that considers placement and interest of the person whose area is getting a mural.
· Trace the line design for their mural on a piece of acetate with a sharpie
· Use a projector to project their line design onto the area chosen for their mural and transfer their design to the wall by means of a pencil.
· Mix paint to create desired colors
· Demonstrate painting techniques such as blending
· Demonstrate how to properly clean up and maintain their work area.
· Demonstrate a high level of craftsmanship
· Complete a mural in a timely manner (before semester change)
