BUSA will be offering 8 sailor places to make up a team for the BKA Open training “Round the cans” Skills on the below dates. Shared accommodation is included onboard.

I confirm that my university is a member of BUSA and I will make payment of £81.25 towards the entry fee and a separate damage deposit of £375. I understand that the entry fee and damage despoit will be split between 8 sailors and I confirm that any damage will be split between the team.
I agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing, the Rules and Bye Laws of the Sailing Club and Harbour Authority, any reasonable instruction from the BUSA Skipper, a coach and all other rules that govern this eventincluding the below Risk Statement, which excludes our right to claim compensation in certain circumstances.
“The responsibility for a crew’s decision to participate in training or race or to continue racing is hers alone.”
Sailing is by its nature an unpredictable sport and therefore involves an element of risk. By taking part in this training event, each competitor agrees and acknowledges that:
a)They are aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the sport and accept responsibility for the exposure of themselves, their crew and their boat to such inherent risk whilst taking part in the event;
b)They are responsible for the safety of themselves, their crew, their boat and their other property whether afloat or ashore;
c)They accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by their own actions or omissions;
d)Their boat is in good order, equipped to sail in the event and they are fit to participate;
e)The provision of a race management team, patrol boats, umpires and other officials and volunteers by the organiser does not relieve them of their own responsibilities;
f)The provision of patrol boat cover is limited to such assistance, particularly in extreme weather conditions, as can be practically provided in the circumstances.
g)It is their responsibility to familiarise themselves with any risks specific to this venue or this event drawn to their attention in any rules and information produced for the venue or event and to attend any safety briefing held for the event.

Please be aware that teams that withdraw from an event, will be charged if no other substitute can be found. Applications for invite should be received at least one month before the event although teams will be invited before this, so early entry is advised to avoid disappointment.
