Are you/your child staying with us for September 2017

If your child is remaining with us for the forthcoming year we have a lot of changes to inform you about.

Changes to funded hours

Firstly you may be aware that the Government has announced that they are increasing the number of funded hours for 3 & 4 year olds to 30 hours per week for eligible working parents. However there is no obligation for nurseries or settings to automatically offer this additional funding it is at the discretion of each individual setting.

We have taken a proposal to the committee and it was voted unanimously at the meeting held on 1st February the following implementations from September 2017. (A copy of the proposal is available upon request)

We are offering ALL families who qualify for these additional hours for 3 & 4 year old children a maximum of 20 funded hours per week. Any hours your child attends with us above 20 hours will be charged at the appropriate rates (see below) We will NOT be offering ANY family 30 funded hours.

This decision was not taken lightly, a lot of background work has been done and we are taking into consideration the 85 families we currently have on our waiting list. If you wish to discuss further please talk to Tracey or Jane only as the other staff are not overly familiar with the changes taking place at this time.

The criteria is very strict and the onus is on you the parent to apply for the additional funding via the HMRC website which will generate a code if you qualify, we will need this in order to claim and offer you the 20 hours.

This means you can only secure a place on a term-by-term basis. You will need to re-apply with HMRC each term and may not be guaranteed the same days or sessions if you do not submit to us the code by our deadline. We are unable to complete this on your behalf as it is linked to personal HMRC information.

The website is not yet available/live and therefore at this time we only need an indication of whether you think you qualify based on the attached eligibility criteria. (see over)

Fee increase

Secondly we have not increased our prices/fees for 2 years. In order to remain financially secure we need to make the increases below from September 17. We have done a comparison with other local settings and hope that you find we remain competitively priced.
