I am reaching out to you to offer the Devon community and its players an elite skill development program for the 2015-16 season!
My name is Steven Goertzen and I am a certified trainer for Power Edge Pro in the Edmonton and surrounding area. I grew up just outside of Stony Plain and played my minor hockey in Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, and St. Albert. I then spent 3 seasons with the Seattle Thunderbirds in the Western Hockey League and was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. I have over 10 years of experience playing professional hockey at all levels, including the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Phoenix Coyotes and Carolina Hurricanes. I have also spent time in the AHL, Czech Elite League, and British Elite League. During that time I was fortunate enough to learn from coaches such as Gerard Gallant, Paul Maurice, and Wayne Gretzky. I have over 10 years of experience in the growth and development of hockey players of all ages and talent levels and am very passionate about what Power Edge Pro has to offer!
A recent study by Hockey Canada found that players on average only spent 8 seconds with a puck on their stick in a game and only 8-12 minutes in a traditional practice. Power Edge Pro is a unique training system that is unlike any other on the marketplace and players will have a puck on their stick the entire session (on average 35-40 minutes). This distinct training is what keeps the kids engaged throughout the entire session as they have a lot of fun challenging themselves with new skills. Players will be developing dynamic skills that will give them an instant competitive advantage versus their peers and provide with fundamental building blocks in their quest to become elite players.
