Prom 2013 Information Sheet
May 17, 2013 from 6pm to 5 am
Highlands High School
Attire
· Proper Prom attire includes a tuxedo or suit and tie for gentlemen and formal dresses for ladies.
· No denim or tennis shoes permitted.
· Absolutely no canes will be permitted (please do not rent them with your tuxedos) you will not be permitted to bring then into the prom area.
· Dresses may not be revealing or low cut.
· You are required to remain in formal attire for the entire evening.
Ticket Packet Includes
· 1 Prom ticket for each attendee
· 2 reserved seats for promenade for each attendee
· 1 Prom favor for each attendee (Attendee will be able to pick up favors approximately 1 week after prom along with their pictures)
· Order forms for prom photos from Raymond’s Photography
Tickets
· There are no refunds for any reason whatsoever!
· Ticket sales will run from Monday April 22nd to Friday May 10th, either before or after school in A101.
· The ticket prices will be $71 per person or $142 per couple.
· For catering purposes, May 10th is the ABSOLUTE last day for ticket sales
· A couple will only be able to purchase tickets if both individuals are free and clear of obligations and be a “student in good standing” (not referred to principal for discipline issues and/or not owing detentions) and under the age of 21 and submit a ticket order form complete with parent/guardian signatures.
· Guests from outside the district: a ticket will not be sold to an outside guest until the appropriate form has been turned in and approved by security. (These forms are available in the office. All forms must be submitted to the office no later than May 3rd)
· Reserve tables will be available at the Hard Rock Café. Signup for tables will be from May13th to May 16th in the high school café during lunch.
Arrival to Prom
· Vehicles containing prom attendees must enter the school grounds from Montana Ave. (enter near the A wing teacher parking lot)
· Your car will be parked by valet and your keys will be collected and held until 5am
· Only prom attendees will be permitted to park on campus
· Promenade ticket holders can park on the street (ONLY PROM ATTENDEE vehicles will be permitted on campus)
Doors to Prom
· Plan your arrival according… Doors open at 5:30 pm sharp!
· Doors remain open until 7pm
Entrance to Prom
· You will be checked in by security (wanded, bags searched, pockets emptied, and breathalyzer).
· All students are subject to being searched.
· Upon entering with your tickets, you will register at the pool entrance of the Arcade.
· Proceed to the promenade (through the café and back f-wing).
· DO NOT LEAVE PERSONAL ITEMS ANYWHERE IN THE SCHOOL…after security check, promenade and pictures you will board the bus to Pittsburgh.
Promenade
· Promenade ticket holders may park on the street.
· No promenade ticket holders’ vehicles will be permitted on campus.
· Promenade will be held in the Auditorium.
· Only ticket holders will be permitted into the building (tickets are reserved seating to ensure each attendee’s family a seat).
· Promenade will begin promptly at 6 pm.
· Attendees are encouraged but not required to go through Promenade.
· Attendees will be officially announced as you walk across the stage and out the side entrance where you will be escorted to the commons for pictures.
· If attendees are not going through Promenade, they are still required to follow the established path to the picture area.
· Extra promenade tickets can be purchased for $2 starting May 1st and at the door.
Pictures
· Raymond’s Photography Studio will take professional photos in 2 theme decorated backdrop areas set up in the commons area.
· Be sure to have the form received in the ticket packet filled out and payment included.
· To facilitate a smooth and speedy photo process, please follow directions of the chaperones in that area.
· Photos will be available until approximately 7pm.
· Once attendees complete the picture process, they will proceed to A-wing to load the busses that will transport them to the Hard Rock Café.
Busses to the Hard Rock Café
· Attendees will wait in A-wing until chaperones have enough to fill a bus.
· Filled busses will leave as soon as attendees are loaded.
· The last bus will leave the high school at 7:15pm.
· Bus assignment will be first come first serve.
Dinner
· A Buffet dinner will be served beginning at 8:00pm.
· Appetizers will be served prior to dinner.
Decorations
· Do not tamper with the decorations!
· Damage to any decorations will result in a citation and dismissal from the prom.
Evening itinerary
· A booklet will be provided for each guest featuring the events for Prom and Post-Prom will be placed on the tables.
· No attendees are permitted to leave between 7pm and 5am unless they have received prior written principal approval and they are accompanied by parent or legal guardian (whose ID will be required)
· DO NOT leave the Hard Rock Café without security escort for ANY reason. Doing so will result in dismissal from Prom.
Small Tours to Mount Washington
· Attendees will be able to take part in small group tours to Mt. Washington during the post prom.
· Chaperones will escort the group to the look out to take pictures.
· Tours will last approximately 30 minutes.
· Signups will be available at the prom.
Busses from the Hard Rock Café
· Attendees will be assigned to a bus for the return trip. Assignments based on prom ticket number.
· The busses will leave the Hard Rock Cafe at 4:45 am
Personal Items
· Please bring only those items that you can comfortably carry with you throughout the evening.
· There is no coat check.
· Please leave valuable items home.
Favors
· Prom favors size will be based on your order form for tickets.
· Pickup of prom favors will be approximately a week after prom (along with your pictures)
ANY STUDENT IN VIOLATION OF THE HIGHLANDS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT MAY BE ISSUED A CITATION AND DISMISSED FROM PROM!!
In addition, the parents of the student and parents of the date will be called to escort you and your date home from the Hard Rock Café at Station Square in Pittsburgh!
NO EXCEPTIONS!
