Subject : Relaxation in Uniform Specifications of paddy and rice for Kharif Marketing Season 2006-2007 in Andhra Pradesh – regarding.

Sir,

Please refer to your letter No. P1(4)/7708/2006 dated 14.11.2006 seeking relaxation in specifications of paddy and rice for Kharif Marketing Season 2006-2007 in Andhra Pradesh.

2. In order to reduce the hardship of farmers and to avoid distress sale of paddy, it has been decided to procure paddy and rice (obtained from relaxed paddy) in Andhra Pradesh with following relaxations during the Kharif Marketing Season 2006-07.

3. Paddy under relaxed specifications as above, will be procured with a value cut of Rs.70 per quintal for Common varieties of paddy and Rs. 73 per quintal in respect of Grade ‘A’ varieties. Thus, the relaxed specifications paddy would be purchased from the farmers @ Rs. 510 per quintal in respect of Common and Rs. 537 per quintal for Grade A varieties.

4. The State Government may keep separate account of paddy and rice procured under uniform and relaxed specifications. Further, State Government may also utilize the milled rice obtained from such relaxed paddy for TPDS and Other Welfare Schemes on overriding priority.

5. The above relaxation will be in operation with immediate effect.

Subject : Relaxation in Uniform Specification of Paddy & rice in respect of Custom Milled Rice for KMS 2006-07 in Andhra Pradesh– regarding.

Sir,

I am directed to refer your letter No. P-1(4)/7708/2006 dated 14.11.2006 wherein you had requested for relaxation in Uniform Specification of paddy/rice for Kharif Marketing Season 2006-07. These relaxations were issued vide this Department’s letter of even number dated 23.11.2006.

The Kharif crop has been harvested and new rabi crop has come and there is no report of damage to this new crop. Therefore, the relaxation given vide this Department’s letter dated 23.11.2006 will not apply to the paddy crop procured after the issue of this letter.
