1- How did Jane feel during the eight weeks Mr Rochester was at Thornfield?

- He had become relaxed with her. She felt he enjoyed their conversation and she began to feel more comfortable. The time she spent with him made her life fuller and more meaningful.

2- "Do you not lock your door every night? I think it would be wise if you did from now on." Comment. - These words were said by Grace Poole to Jane when Jane decided to put her to a test by talking to her about the fire to see her reaction, but her hand was completely steady and she advised Jane to lock her from now on.

3- "Are there ladies at Mr Eshton's place?" Comment.

- These words were said by Jane to Mrs. Fairfax when she knew that Mr. Rochester went on a journey to Mr. Eshton's house and then she told Jane that Rochester is such a favourite with the ladies and that's why she asked if there were ladies at Eshton's place or not.

4- "Oh, but there is such an age difference between them, he is nearly forty and she is only twenty five. I am sure Mr Rochester would not consider marrying her." Comment .

- These words were said by Mrs. Fairfax to Jane When Mrs. Fairfax started to talk about Blanche Ingram's beauty and Jane was surprised because she isn't married yet, so Mrs. Fairfax told her that she wasn't rich enough and then Jane said that this wouldn't be a problem for the rich Mr. Rochester. But Mrs. Fairfax thought that he wouldn't consider marrying her as he was much older than her.

5- "Whenever you think Mr Rochester likes you, all you have to do is to compare these two portraits.” Comment .

- These words were said by Jane to herself when she realized that she was a fool to think that Rochester cared for her, so she painted two portraits, one of herself and the other how she imagined Miss Ingram. She did that to compare those two pictures whenever she thought Rochester liked her.

6- What preparations had to be done for Mr Rochester's guests? What did Jane learn during these days? - -The house sprang into life. The best bedrooms were prepared and new servants were brought in to help in the house and the kitchen. Adele was wild and Sophie was kept busy helping Adele choose her best dresses. Jane learnt to make custard and cheesecakes, French pastry and to prepare game.

8- What opinion do Mr Rochester's guests have of governesses?

-Blanche said that she and her sister Mary had a dozen at least, half of them they hated, the other half were ridiculous. Other women joined in the conversation adding their stories and criticisms of governesses they know.

9- " I thought you were not fond of children. Why don't you send her to school?" Comment .

-These words were said by Blanche Ingram to Rochester at Thornfield when Adele went to greet her, but she looked at her with a mocking air she didn't seem to like her that's why she suggested that Rochester should send her to school.

10- Why wasn't Jane jealous of Blanche Ingram?

-She wasn't jealous of Blanche because the more she saw of her, the more she understood how false she was. She wasn't really in love with Rochester, perhaps she liked the idea of his money and he must have chosen her because she came from an important family.

11- Who was the fortune teller?

- The fortune teller was Mr. Rochester in disguise when he was pretending to be a fortune teller .

12- "I think your heart hides a secret. Come and let me see your face." comment .

-These words were said by the fortune teller (Mr. Rochester) to Jane when he pretended to be a fortune teller. He asked to see Jane to tell her about her fortune, but she told him that she didn't in such things and then he asked to come closer to see her face and she discovered that he was Mr. Rochester.

13- " This is a blow, a serious blow.” Comment .

-These words were said by Mr. Rochester to Jane when she told him that he had a visitor, Mr. Mason from Spanish town I Jamaica. When he heard that he was shocked, his face became whiter than ashes and Jane ran to stop him from falling over.

14- If you were Jane, would you tell Mr Rochester about your feelings towards him? Why? Why not?
