Thank you for supporting the Grove Movie Night sponsored by the Boy Scouts! It was a great event and the kids had a great time.
Parent-Teacher Conferences have a new format and will take place November 16th and 17th in the evening from 4-7 PM. A Skyward will be coming out tomorrow, October 14th about parent teacher conferences.
McTeacher Night is Monday, October 17th…This is an exciting event and the students love coming to the McDonald’s across from the airport to see their teachers work and school artwork displayed for all to see.
Next week is NCHS’ Homecoming. It will be a fun week full of Homecoming celebrations culminating in a Pep Assembly on Friday at 9:30.
Unit 5 Update: Mike Trask
Facts:
1) First Student has not been fired. They need more drivers.
2) First Student has been given until November for the district to gauge whether or not improvements
have been made and whether or not the contract will need to be severed for next year. There are
several options that may occur if it is decided to sever the contract.
3) First Student has hired a new Transportation Manager.
4) Drivers have signed a three-year contract with First Student.
5) I have seen a lot of improvement. We are not at 100% yet, but we are a lot closer.
6) The School Board is constantly monitoring the situation to make sure resolutions are being made.
7) Please let us know about any problems and concerns you have with regards to transportation
8) All contracts have been signed (teachers, custodians, etc.)

Fall contest ends on Friday, October 21st. Please label them with your child’s name and room code.

We are planning a Sweet and Salty Bar for Halloween and are also planning a Salsa Bar for Parent Teacher Conferences.
Library- IMC Coordinator: (Nikki Hudelson)
We are still in need of volunteers to help in the library. As of now, we only have one of five classes covered per week.

This is currently being put together and will be coming out via Skyward shortly.
Schwann’s/Pie sales: (Tara Pendleton)
Pie sales are currently in progress and all money and forms are due back to school Friday, October 21st. There will be a contest to see which class has the most pie sales.
Room Parent/Basket Coordinator/Volunteer Coordinator: (Jessica Stephens)
We still need room parent volunteers and basket volunteers. Please help and make sure your child has a classroom Room Parent. Kristi was able to get artwork up at McDonald’s in preparation for McTeacher Night next week.
Spirit Wear: (Katy Fiala and Erin Weaver)
Our last sale went well! We sold over 250 pieces and grossed over $700 for the PTO. We will have another sale in the Spring and are moving towards having the sale on-line only.

Our first sale went well and the PTO grossed over $250 just on the first sale.

Our Monarch caterpillars were down this year, but classrooms were still able to utilize the garden for an educational tool.

We had a great Dining Event at Chipotle with over $800 coming back to the PTO to help support our school.
Everything has been going well and expenses are right in line with expenses at the same time last year.
