“PLAYING IN DUET”
Regulations 2014
Purpose of the competition :
- Promote traditions of ensemble music ;
- To encourage creative interaction between different countries and cities music schools ;
- - To create favorable conditions for students play music together , with a variety instruments.
1. The first organizer of Competition
Kaunas Aleksandras Kačanauskas music school, Lithuania.
2. Location and Dates
Competition will be held on 26-28 November,2014at Kaunas Aleksandras Kačanauskas music school:

3. General Rules
Invited to participate students from Lithuania and other countries music schools. Tenders - duets of different composition, one of the performers have to be o pianist. All duets are divided into two categories - piano duets and mixed duets, with are valued separately.
Piano duets :
* duet of two pianists, playing with one instrument ( 4 hands ) ;
* duet of two pianists, playing with two pianos.
Mixed duets :
* piano and string instrument ;
* piano and folk instrument ;
* piano and brass instrument ;
* piano and percussion ;
* piano and accordion ;
* piano and vocal .
Tenderers are divided by age into three groups :
Group Age
/ Time limitA / Aged up to 7-11 / up to 5 min
B / Aged up to 12-15 / up to 10 min
C / Aged up to 16-19 / up to 15 min
4. Competition program
Two or more pieces of different epochs and character according to participant’s choice;
Note :
The program can be played with scores.
The score of each instrument should be of the same value.
Can perform various musical arrangement and transcriptions.
Preferred include in the program contemporary Lithuanian composers piece.
5. Awards
All participants receive an acknowledgement gratitude.
Price winners will be awarded in each group with special diplomas of competition and gifts from our sponsors.
A special prize will be given for the best interpretation of a baroque, classical or Lithuanian composer piece.
A Grand Prix will be awarded for the winner of all the competition.
6. Registration
Deadline for registration is27 October, 2014.

All participants must submit a birth certificate or a passport copy together with a filled application form.
Participant’s fee of 50 Euro must be paid via
