Prayer for Illumination (unison) Liturgist

O Lord, you led your people through the wilderness and into the promised land. Guide us this morning by your Spirit and open us to your gentle, shepherding hand through the Scriptures read and proclaimed. May we be emboldened this day to walk through the wilderness of this world toward the glory of your world to come. Amen.

Pastoral Prayer/Lord’s Prayer (debt/debtors)

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Praise God from whom all blessing flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below;

*Prayer of Thanksgiving (unison) Rev. Jake Clawson

God of mercy and all good, we praise you that in love you reached across the abyss of our sin and brought us into your embrace. We thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus and for the power of your love. By your Spirit, give us the grace of repentance and the courage to face our selfishness. Take these offerings as a down payment of our intentions to serve you wholly and completely. Build your kingdom and use us that our community and our world might know the forgiveness and new life that comes by knowing you. This we pray for the sake of Jesus Christ and the world he came to save. Amen.

All: We worship You, for You are good!

*Prayer of Confession (unison) Rev. Jake Clawson

God of mercy, you sent Jesus Christ to seek and to save the lost. We confess that we have strayed from you and turned aside from your way. We are misled by pride, for we see ourselves pure when we are stained, and great when we are small. We have failed in love, neglected justice, and ignored your truth. Have mercy, O God, and forgive us from the bounty of your steadfast love. Return us to paths of righteousness for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior…
