Election Process:

Therewill be overallelectionprocess briefed byGSODPresidentandfollowed byGSYguidelines byGSY-ECCoordinator.Youwill be requiredto preparea 2minutespeechdescribingyourprofile,whyyouwant to joinGSYand howyouplan tomake a differencein thecommunity.PleasementionyourpastGSYpositionor youractiveparticipationin anyleadershippositions,either atschool orothervolunteerorganization.Basedon theselectioncriteria,recommendationlettersandyourspeech,thecurrentExecutiveCommitteewill make thefinaldecisionon theGSYcommitteeselection.

Responsibilities of GSY CoreCommittee:

  • Co-ordinatedayto dayoperationandreportdirectlyto GSYCo-Coordinatorand Presidentof GujaratiSamaj.
  • In chargeof implementingthepolicy,procedures,planningevents,organizingvariousyouthrelatedactivates andpublishingyouthrelatedinformationon GSODwebsiteaswellin SamajDarshan.
  • FollowprocedureandpolicyestablishedbyEC/BOTof GujaratiSamaj.
  • ParticipateandhelpoutinGujaratiSamajevents

Position Description

Director:Thisisveryimportantpositionin GSYExecutiveCommittee.Responsibilitiesincludebutnotlimitedto:

  • Organizeminimum1 Charity Event,culturalevent,sportsevent,valentineseventandoneyouthrelatededucationalevent.
  • Preparelist ofevents for theyearwithtentativedatesandbudget byendofNovemberandpresent itto theGSOD EC.
  • Conductmeetingpriorto anyevent,with aminimumof4meetingsinyear.
  • CommunicatewithGSYcorecommitteeandGSYmemberatlargefor GSYactivities andparticipationin GSODevents.
  • Attend ECmeetings.
  • Assignmembersatlargebased on theirinteresttocorecommitteemember.

Co-Director:

  • Help outDirectorin runningGSY.
  • In absenceofDirectortakecharge ofalldirectors’activities.

Secretary:

  • TakemeetingminutesforallGSYmeetingsandsendouttheminutesto theCommittee,GSYCo-coordinator andPresident.
  • Help DirectorandCo-Directorto administrateGSYyouthgroup.

Treasurer:

  • Prepareoperatingbudgetfor allevents
  • Report financialstatement foreveryevent to Directorand ECcommittee.

Public Relations:

  • Plan andcoordinateGSYeventadvertisement/announcements.
  • MarketingGSYin ourcommunity to promoteyouthinvolvement.

PublicationSupport:

  • PublishatleastoneSamajDarshanduringtheyear.
  • Write orgatherarticlesfromGSYgroup for GSYcornerin theSamajDarshan.
  • MarketingGSYin ourcommunity to promoteyouthinvolvement.
  • Help outWebdesignerin gatheringcontentfor GSYwebsite.

Web Design:

  • Create andmaintainGSYwebsite
  • Maintainalleventsanddetailinformation for GSYgrouponwebsite.

Members at Large:

  • Thisisan excellentpositionformemberswhohaveneverbeeninvolved in GSYactivitiesandwouldliketo learnandgrowtheirleadershipskills.Thispositionisalsoflexible forthosekidswho arealreadyinvolvedinothercommunity organizationsor activities,butwouldstillliketo beinvolvedwithGujaratiSamajyouthgroup.
