BravoMe Activity
Lesson Objective: Use textual evidence to create a BravoMe.com account for the character I assign you. Everything in the character’s profile must be based on evidence from the text.
- Sit with a partner. Make sure one of you has a laptop. I will assign you a character.
- Create a BravoMe account.
- Go to rlstevenson.net, click on Teachers/Staff, go to Mrs. Imaa’s webpage.
- Click on Links.
- Click on BravoMe Sign-up
- Enter your birth month, birthday, and 1953 for the year.
- Setup your account.
- Student ID: Enter your own six digit (mmddyy) date of birth as your student ID.
- After you click Submit to Mrs. Imaa, I will give you your username.
- Write down your BravoMe Username and Password in the back of your agenda.
- Login to your BravoMe account
- Go back to Mrs. Imaa’s homepage
- Click on Links
- Click on BravoMe Login
- Click on Profile Checklist.
- Change Your Name and Other Information
- Change your Display Name to your period #/character’s name/your name. For example, P1/Ponyboy/Mrs.Imaa.
- Change sex to your character’s gender.
- Click update.
- Click Private Page.
- Click on Edit Bravo Page.
- Edit Public Information. Fill in all fields and click update.
- Add at least one journal entry of 250 words. Use first person point of view to describe how your character is feeling right now.
- List My Favorites. Speculate on what your character’s favorites might be, based on evidence from the text.
- Add Buddies. These should be other classmates who’s profile character is friends with the character in the book.
- Upload Your Picture. The picture you upload must be based on the description of the character in the book. Don’t assume that a picture from the movie accurately depicts your character.
- Present your character’s profile to the class. You can include something that represents your character such as a costume, prop or accent for extra credit.
