Post RequirementsWe are seeking a research technician to join our team on an exciting project investigating the role of oral and intestinal microbiota in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and spanning from microbiology over immunology to inflammatory disease. Applicants will have been awarded a BSc or Masters degree in a biological or related science. They will have experience in basic biochemical, molecular and cell biology techniques. Experience in microbiology and/or immunology is desirable.
The project will be carried out as part of a collaborative effort of two highly accomplished laboratories, that of Prof. Costantino Pitzalis, expert in RA and chronic inflammatory disease at the William Harvey Research Institute, and Prof. Mike Curtis, expert in oral microbiota and periodontal disease at the Dental Institute, under supervision of Dr. Magdalena Flak. Both institutes are renowned for cutting-edge research output, a highly collaborative environment and exceptional support for the career development of junior researchers.
The post is full time for 12 months(startingat the earliest date possible). Starting salary will be in the range of £29,936per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave,defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylumand Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
