D. Kyle Kim, MD, PhD
Dr. Kim is a board certified neurosurgeon who specializes in the treatment of a variety of conditions affecting the brain and spine. He has extensive experience in the minimally invasive approach to treatment of tumors, vascular lesions, and degenerative conditions. This includes disk herniation, spinal stenosis and compression. Dr. Kim has special interests in vascular compression lesions of the brain including trigeminal neuralgia. He has specialized training and experience in microsurgical techniques applied to conditions involving the brain or spine. Dr. Kim is committed to an individualized attention to each patient’s needs, whether it involves a surgical solution or not. His goal is to find the best outcome for every patient.
Education
Dr. Kim received a B.A. from the University of Chicago. He then obtained an MD/PhD from Pritztker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago.

D. Kyle Kim, MD, PhD: Brief Bio sketch
Education
Dr. Kim attained University of Chicago on scholarship earning a B. A. in General Studies in Humanities. He then finished an M.D./PhD. Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago.
Training
Dr. Kim underwent a general surgery internship followed by neurological surgery training at the University of Washington in Seattle. His neurological surgery training included a year at Atkinson Morley Hospital in Wimbledon, United Kingdom. He also completed a cerebrovascular surgery fellowship at the University of Washington.
Professional experience
After completing his neurological surgery training, Dr. Kim eight years at Allegheny General Hospital/Hahnemann Medical College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He then moved his practice to Seattle at Group Health Permanante where he spent ten years before joining Seattle Neurosurgery/OPA. Dr. Kim’s practice comprises a variety of conditions affecting the brain and spine. He applies an individualized approach to the achieve the best outcomefor every patient. Dr. Kim’s professional memberships include the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and Joint AANS/CNS Section of Cerebrovascular Surgery. Personal interests
Dr. Kim primary activities revolve around his family, including his wife, Mia, and their three children. The older two children are physicians as well. His hobbies include reading, following sports, and bicycling.
