UNIT THREE: EUROPE TO THE EARLY 1500s: REVIVAL, DECLINE, RENAISSANCE (1050-1450)
Introduction: This unit is designed to introduce students to the changes happening inEurope during the time frame of 1050-1450. Within this unit we will also focus on the introduction of feudalism, the Crusades, the Plague, and look into the Renaissance. The skills to be learned in this unit include understanding how to read and use a map efficiently, comprehend the major concepts and key elements of geography, civilization, and culture, as well as to make connections to today’s world.
Unit Objectives:
Students will be able to:
- Identify and describe the features that constitute a civilization for the areas of study.
- Achieve a geographical understanding of the world in spatial terms.
- Evaluate how geography and the major components of culture affect the way of life of the people of the world.
- Appraise primary and secondary source documents to better understand the topic.
