HOMECOMING 2016

September 24th – 30th

Dear Parents:

We at Woodbury Central Community School would like to invite you to Homecoming 2016. The following information will be useful so that you may participate in this wonderful event. The theme for this year’s homecoming is “AROUND THE WORLD.” The following ‘Spirit Days’ have been assigned to the elementary to promote the spirit of a Wildcat victory: Monday –Beach Day ~Tuesday –Safari Day ~ Wednesday - Team USA Day, Thursday - Super Hero Day ~ Friday – Spirit Day (Wear your blue and white WILDCAT gear!).

Transitional kindergarten and Kindergarten will be riding on floats in the parade; First through 5th graders WILL walk to the park with their teachers in the parade J We would like to encourage the Elementary students to be dressed in BLUE AND WHITE. Please prepare for the weather.

School will be dismissed at 1:30 on Friday, September 30, 2016. (Reminder-Miller Blvd. north of the school will be closed, so you will not be able to drive there to pick up your child.) The parade will leave the school at 2:00 p.m. and follow the revised parade route, which is printed on the back of this note. The parade will go north on South 4th Street to Jackson Street turn west and then will turn and go north on So 2nd Street to the Main Street Flag Pole, then turn west and make a loop on Main Street. The parade will end at the Park this year. There will be a Pep Rally in the Park immediately following the Parade . All elementary students will be dismissed from the park. The route buses will leave immediately from the park this year.

The Homecoming permission slip must be returned to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, Sept. 28th.

Sat. Sept 24th Bean Bag Tournament: Grades 7-12 @ 10:00am and the Adult Division @ 1:00pm at the Meadows Country Club. Prizes award to top teams. (Sponsored by the WC QB Club)

Sun. Sept 25th HS Hall Decorating – 12:30-4:30pm

Tailgate hosted by the HS Student Council starting at 5:00 at the SB/BB Field

Girls Kickball Games 5:30pm (SB/BB Field)

Iron Man Volleyball- 7:15pm (HS Gym)

Thurs. Sept 29th Coronation/Skits/Jr. Class Auction- 7:00 in the HS Gym

Fri. Sept 30th 1:30 Dismissal with Parade starting at 2:00

FOOTBALL GAME vs. MVAO 7:00

If you are a sponsor for a MYRA activity and you plan on having a float for the parade you must contact the office (712-873-3128) by MONDAY, Sept 26nd and send a list of athletes that will be riding with you.

When picking your child up from the parade you ( or designated individual) are being required to sign off with their classroom teacher.If the student is to walk home or to daycare please make sure the classroom teacher is aware byWednesday, Sept. 28th, 2016with a written note for our record. The WC Elem. Staff wants to make sure all students are accounted for, are safe and arrive at their destination after the parade.
