OBJECTIVE
My goal is to be a team member on a Sport Fishing boat and I am willing and able to travel anywhere for any duration. I look forward to learning everything possible from experienced Captains and Mates. I intend to make this my lifelong career and eventually become a professional Captain. I understand this requires long hours, very few days off and Ninety percent maintenance and ten percent fishing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience on Sport Fishing boats, Private Charter/Commercial Fishing boats and Luxury Motor Yachts. Trained detailer with the buffer, wet sand, bottom cleaning, and wood chemicals. Some engine room experience.Trained in Trolling, Bottom Fishing, Tuna Fishing, Deep Dropping, Diving, and Spearfishing. I have fished seasons in Mexico, Dominican Republic, USVI’s, BVI’s, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and the Keys. I have tied up and rode out three “direct hit” hurricanes. Two being Cat 3/s and the third and most recent being a Cat 4/5 “Joaquin” in Flying Fish Marina, Bahamas. Putting my life in danger multiple times, I saved the boat from being a total loss. I am committed and loyal to the job and boat.
EXPERIENCE
●Extensive detailing experience with the buffer wheel and cleaning chemicals.
●High standard for detail and perfection.
●Trained in Trolling/Rigging: Live bait, dead bait, dredges, lures, High speed, bottom fishing, and rigging any gear.
●Experienced in running center consoles, express style open fishers, and small sport fish boats.
●Experienced in handling and fishing for Billfish and Pelagics.
●Very familiar with towing big tenders.
●Experience with hurricane situations and procedures.
●Experience with boat yard situations and procedures.
●I have stood all night wheel watches while towing on long crossings on various occasions.
●Trained well in hospitality for owners, customers and guests on the boat.
●Experience in spearfishing, diving and freediving.
●5 Years’ experience in mating on Sport fish boats.
●1 Year Private Charter/Commercial fishing.
●2 Years with a Detailing company.
●6 Months Luxury Yacht Chartering.
