Status of Current Toxicology program
Identify the main strengths of your department’s toxicology research and educational programs. (250-300 words) Be specific.Address topics such as current funding, infrastructure, and programs (seminars, classes, expertise of those teaching toxicology). Is there administrative support for your program? Are there other departments that offer complementary classes (biology, biochemistry, physiology)? Are there mentors available for faculty and students? Do students have access to scientific literature?
Identify the gaps and perceived needs (economic, infrastructural, programmatic, etc) of your department’s toxicology research and educational programs. If there are regional or local economic issues that are unique to your institution relative to the country, these may be included as well (250-300 words). Again, be specific about needed coursework, expertise, or whether collaborative relationships exist to complement whatever toxicology programs are already in place.
With regards to the needs listed above, explain what are specific ways in which the SOT Global Senior Scholar Exchange Program could help strengthen your toxicology program (200 words). It would be best to address how the program will address the gaps and needs identified in the question above. Please note that SOT does NOT provide funding for equipment, computers or laboratory renovations.
