Scholarship Application
Dear Applicant:
The mission of the New Orleans chapter of Louisiana Federation of Business and Professional Women is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. The organization will provide scholarships to deserving college students on an equal opportunity basis regardless of race or religious preference.
All applications must be submitted via PDF to or via USPS to P. O. Box 50215, New Orleans, LA 70150. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Current scholarship recipients must re-apply each year. Application packets mustbe submitted no later than May 1, 2018. Notification of scholarships will be sent to all applicants by August 1, 2018.
Eligibility Criteria
High school seniors transitioning to college
College undergraduates currently enrolled in college
Minimum grade point average of 2.5
Planning to attend or enrolled in a technical school/college/university for an entire academic year, beginning in the fall of 2018
Awardee must commit to 1 year of participation in the New Orleans Business and Professional Women’s Organization (by attending 2 meetings and participating in 2 events)

Essay
Applicants are required to submit a 500 word essay answering the following two questions. The essay must be typed using 12 point font and double-spaced.
- Why do you need financial assistance in the form of a scholarship?
- How would a scholarship specifically benefit you during your college enrollment?

Official Academic Transcript
Applicants must request anofficialacademic transcript from their most recent high school, college, or university. All transcripts must have an official raised seal and/or official signature to be valid. Transcripts that do not have a raised seal and/or signature will not be accepted. Class schedules, report cards, or progress reports will not be accepted.
