ATTENDANCE AND MAKE-UP POLICY:

The best way a student can achieve success in this course is to be in class EVERYDAY. The Polk School District policy for make up work will be followed for this course. An excuse must be SHOWN to Mrs. Haney within 3 days of returning to school in order for any missed work to be made up. It is the student’s responsibility for scheduling to make up any missed test, lab, daily work, etc. Failure to do this will result in a grade of zero (0).

BOOK DAMAGE FEE:

Due to budget cuts, the instructor may not issue textbooks, but textbooks will be available on a check out basis. The student MUST sign a textbook form and return the book in a timely manner and with no damage. Book damage fees will be charged for lost books, any writing in the book, or other damage done to a textbook other than what is recorded by the student when books are issued.

Students may also be issued an online book activation code using

http://my.hrw.com (ISBN# 9780030999979).

CLASS EXPECTATIONS/PROCEDURES:

1.  All students are expected to keep a notebook (preferably a 3-ringed binder). Date and label all assignments, labs, class notes, etc.

2.  Start activators as soon as you come in the room. Also complete all summarizers at the end of class. Remember to copy, answer, AND date all activators/summarizers. These will be turned in for a daily grade.

3.  Students are expected to utilize retesting as well as directed studies opportunities.

4.  Students are expected to work from bell to bell. Do not put up early unless you are given permission.

5.  Raise your hands to ask questions. Do not blurt out.
