direction of fire and lock postioning swivels.
__1.2Open post indicating valve (PIV) supplying water to fixed monitor.
__1.3Verify PIV is open by observing window located on PIV head which should read “OPEN”. Water should be flowing from nozzle.
NOTE:Rotate nozzle barrel left for wide pattern or rotate right for a tight pattern. For stang shutoff style nozzle rotate to the right to shut off.
2.0Use/Handling / __2.1Adjust monitor nozzle for most effective water spray pattern
__2.2For Monitors equipped with Foam Station: Open ¼ turn valve on foam container.
NOTE:Do not continue to apply water to the area during or after foam has been applied. Foam security will be compromised.
3.0Directing Water Stream at Target / __3.1Loosen vertical and horizontal lock knobs located on swivel joints.
CAUTION
Failure to loosen lock knobs will cause irreversible damage to swivel race.
__3.2Grasp direction handle and direct water stream at target.
__3.2.1Apply foam by either (1) raining down method by sweeping passes over fire area; (2) banking method by directing stream at equipment or (3) Bounce Method by aiming stream and grounding short of spill to run foam into fire area.
__3.3Tighten lock knobs to hold desired position.
4.0Deactivation / __4.1 Raise monitor nozzle to vertical position.
__4.2 Close water valve or nozzle.
__4.3Close PIV.
__4.4Verify PIV is closed. Window reads “CLOSED”.
5.0Drain Monitor / CAUTION
Failure to drain monitor in cold weather applications can lead to freeze damage to piping, valving, etc.
