WHO WE ARE|QUIEN SOMOS
Started in 2011 & produced by Unity Coalition|Coalición Unida, the Celebrate ORGULLO Festival Showcases Hispanic Pride during Hispanic Heritage & LGBT Pride Month - The First Event of its kind in the U.S.
UNITY COALITION|COALICIÓN UNIDA is a Florida 501(c)3 non-profit whose focus is the
Leadership, Protection & Promotion of Latino|Hispanic LGBTQ rights (lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transgender, questioning) - The only organization of its kind in South Florida
since 2002. We are proud to host the Annual Celebrate ORGULLO Festival,
and appreciate your consideration in supporting this endeavor.
Now in its 5th successful year, Celebrate ORGULLO is a month long
celebration of over 20 sanctioned events across South Florida. Kicking it all off
with our LEGENDS BALL Gala on Sept 4, 2015, followed by salsa dance contests,
a Writers Forum & Noches de JAZZ series at the Betsy Hotel, ART EXPO at the
LGBT Center, and more… all leading up to the Carnaval itself on Saturday,
October 3, 2015, 12pm to 9pm, at MUSEUM PARK in Downtown Miami –
1075 Biscayne Boulevard.
· Last year our attendance exceeded well over 25,000 – including festival and related events. This year, in 2015, we expect our numbers to continue to significantly increase due to our programming, advertising, community outreach, partnership with the City of Miami Beach & Betsy South Beach Hotel, sanctioned events & entertainment lineup. Our event covers demographics in every age category, orientation, ethnic and economic bracket.
· The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau will, for the 4th year, conduct an on-site survey on attendees, demographics, shopping habits & much more.
· Most of our Celebrate ORGULLO events are free and open to the public with proceeds from the sale of beverages to benefit our LGBT COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP FUND, year round programming community services of the Unity Coalition|Coalicion Unida, Inc.
· This year we are thrilled to be crowning International Celebrity, Singer, Dancer & TV Star, the Diva IRIS CHACÓN as our Queen of the Carnaval. Ms. CHACÓN will be available for media (pre event) and for her public at the Oct 3rd Carnaval.

Now in its 5th successful year, Celebrate ORGULLO is a month long celebration of over 20 sanctioned events across South Florida on the weeks leading up to the Carnaval itself on Saturday, October 3, 2015, 10am to 9pm, at MUSEUM PARK in Downtown Miami -1075 Biscayne Boulevard.
Celebrate ORGULLO is a festival showcasing Hispanic LGBT Pride.
It all starts off with our annualLEGENDS BALL - kicking off a month ofCelebrate ORGULLOevents!
Celebrating the good, positive & outstanding within ourLGBT community, the Unity Coalition|Coalicion Unida's(UC|CU) Legends Ball strives to focus on just that –Bringing lecturers from all walks of life in the LGBTQ & friends of community, the events focus on thesimilarities rather than the differences we all share, and how we can inspire others to do good, excel, beproud of who they are & just be better people.
TALENT SEARCH CONTESTS | Contests over several weeks in multiple clubs across Dade & Broward, the Celebrate ORGULLO Talent Search Contests give the community a chance to win a spot on the Festival Stage on Oct 3rd – SINGERS, DANCERS & More, for prizes & bragging rights. This is an excellent way to reach multiple audiences and promote branding.
SOUNDSCAP NIGHT, Featuring ORGULLO ART | In partnership with the New World Symphony, projections of Artist ASHLEY KOLODNER and her GayFace Project, will be projected on the largest outdoor permanent screen in the U.S.
ARTISTS SHOWCASE @ LGBT Visitors Center | Featuring Artists and their works from across South Florida & the U.S., this exhibit will give a window into the Talent, Vision and Hopes of the community. In partnership with Life is Art.
WRITERS FORUM | presented by the BETSY South Beach, accomplished Hispanic LGBT authors from around the globe - coming to Miami Beach for open dialogue, readings & workshops – as well 1 week writers residences at the Betsy hotel.
NOCHES DE JAZZ Music Series| Back by popular demand, our 2nd annual Jazz at the BETSY Hotel, brings 4 nights of free & unforgettable live performances to the hotel lobby bar, - you don’t want to miss this… This year we are featuring KARINA IGLESIAS, EnVEE and a few other surprises!
CELEBRATE ORGULLO Carnaval moves to MUSEUM PARK in Miami | Now in the Heart of Downtown Miami, adjacent to the Perez Art Museum, ScienceMiami and the American Airlines Arena, the 5th annual Carnaval Street Fair will include 2 STAGES with local, national & international artists, including our Queen of the Carnaval – IRIS CHACÓN, amazing sponsors, community partners, 80+ booths of cultural diversity & 3 Community Pavilions. It will feature International foods, art, street performers, dancing, people watching, easy access via MetroMover & ample parking …and promises to be a fun time for all!
WRITERS PAVILION | A full day of scheduled readings, personal appearances and community workshops will be present at the Festival, free of charge, on Saturday, Oct 3, 2015. Presented by BETSY South Beach, with featured writers including CHARLIE VASQUEZ (NYC), CARIDAD MORO (Miami), NANCY GARCIA (Cuba), and more.
SABORES PAVILION | Learn the secrets of Hispanic cooking, the fruits, spices & flavors, as well as healthy alternatives to some of those decadent recipes – at our food demo stage, co sponsored by Jackson Health.
CULTURA PAVILION | Dance, music, theatre & culture – all in a raw and captivating format. A daylong stage presentation of the best talents our community has to offer, in partnership with Life is Art & Teatro Avante.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION & AWARENESS Our ongoing partnerships with Community groups, health care providers & others – ensure that a message of wellness, prevention and education is always a part of Celebrate ORGULLO’s mission & message.
