Problem Statement: To design a closed loop EMG biofeedback device to allow a small child with Lissencephaly to exhibit some physical control over his life.

Restatement of Team Goals: Gather all needed information regarding the project at client meeting on Friday. Following client meeting, meet with our advisor, Prof. Webster, to discuss progress. Create PDS. Split into groups and begin brainstorming ideas for possible design solutions.

Individual Goals:

Brent Geiger: Research lissencephaly, EMG. Perform a patent search. Review EMG amplifier circuit constructed last semester. Prepare to create PDS (1)

Tom Chia: Research lissencephaly, EMG. Look into massage pads. Review EMG amplifier circuit constructed last semester. Prepare to create PDS. (1)

Jason Ethington: Maintain communications with client. Research lissencephaly, EMG. Prepare to create PDS (1)

Tim Rand: Research lissencephaly, EMG. Begin work on project website. Prepare to create PDS(1)

Kim Treml: Research lissencephaly, EMG. Prepare to create PDS (1)

Total Team Hours: 10

Summary of Accomplishments: Met with client on Friday 9-12-03 at 12:00 in the Weston library at the hospital. Discussed the project and client requirements. Client required a formal letter outlining project and requesting the child’s mother’s permission to continue with project. Met with Prof. Webster after client meeting to discuss progress. Wrote and mailed formal letter to client.

Statement of Future Team Goals: Write PDS. Once PDS is established discuss if team will work as one group, or divide into subgroups. Begin brainstorming/formulating ideas for design.

Project Schedule:

9-19-03 –Create PDS and begin brainstorming design ideas
