GRADED PAPERS folder goes home most Wednesdays. The students are to correct all answers first with their red pencil, have you sign the cover sheet after all corrections are complete, and return the folder by Tuesday of the next week. Do not erase wrong answers.
MATH SKILLS in third grade will include large number addition and subtraction, mastery of multiplication facts through twelve, and basic division. We will also be working on telling time, fractions, and decimals. Everyone should come to third grade knowing the basic addition and subtraction facts. It is important for students to practice the multiplication math facts at home nightly with the flashcards that will be kept in their backpacks.Students are expected to earn at least FOUR Mathletics Certificates every quarter. This will count as a Test Grade for Math.
READING:Accelerated Reader Requirements for each 9 weeks (Students are to be reading chapter books on their reading level. They need to achieve an 80 or better on their tests.) This will count as a Test Grade during the first quarter. They should read at least 6 books during the quarter.

HOMEWORK: The students have a homework folder and Assignment Book that they will bring home every night. Please don’t clean out the homework folder for the children. They are being taught an organizational skill and should know which papers to leave at home. Please remember to sign the assignment page nightly and check my homework page daily for important information. The students will have homework every night during the school week. It is meant to be practice of what we did in school that day. Please let us know if the student is unable to complete their assignments due to a family emergency.
