1.  President’s Report – Nelson Park:

·  Nelson thanked Heidi for her Article for the Chapter website and noted that Cynthia was due next to write an Article. Send all articles to Sue to post to the website.

·  Nelson discussed the 2010 San Antonio Forum and stated that despite the economy, there is a good group of people attending from Washington State; and as part of our Sponsorship, the Chapter will give a ticket to the Rodeo to Ken’s (our Treasurer) wife Kristine to attend with him.

·  Nelson stated that he has an Intern – Chris Collier, who is a College/Study Member of the WA Chapter of NIGP, and Chris will be working in Nelson’s material control area at the South Service Center.

·  At the August Board Meeting, Nelson has asked Karen and Heidi to update us on their progress on the 2012 Seattle NIGP National Forum.

2.  Vice President’s Report – Alyce Benge: No Report from Alyce; she is on vacation.

3.  Recording Secretary’s Report – Linda Winter

·  WA Chapter Board Meeting Minutes of June 2010 were submitted for approval. After a vote, the June 2010 Chapter Board Meeting Minutes were unanimously approved. Linda will post to the website.

4.  Treasurer’s Report – Ken Matthews:

·  June 2010 Treasurer’s Report – Approved by the Board; Ken will post to website.

·  Discussion of revenues and training to generate revenue.

5.  Membership Secretary’s Report – Cynthia Shaw

·  No new Members in July 2010.

·  Cynthia reported that there are currently 267 Chapter Members; 34 are shown as inactive and 38 are shown as expired. Cynthia will send a listing of these inactive and/or expired members to other Board members to ask for their assistance in contacting these former members and either confirming their expiration or asking them to come back to the Chapter membership.

6.  Past President Report: Karen Fitzthum: No report. Karen and her husband Don will be attending the 2010 Forum in San Antonio, TX; and she and Heidi will report on their progress in planning the 2012 Forum in Seattle at our September Board Meeting.

7.  Committee Reports

·  Education and Research Committee – Heidi Bohl:

- Heidi thanked Dave Davis, who will teach a class on Marketing/the Value of Public Procurement in September; this class will be held in Tacoma. Also, Oct 4 and 5 is the CPPB Preparation Class in the GA Building in Olympia. The November class will be an Introduction to Public Procurement at the City Hall building in Bellevue, WA. Heidi stated that all of the venues for these classes are free of charge.

·  Public Relations and Marketing Committee - Sue Ownby: No Report

8. National Updates: Dave Davis: Dave reported that for the 2010 Forum, National will hit its target of 100% of their goal for Registration; and the Delegate counts look good as well (781), the Budget Goal was 784. There is concern that Forum rooms such as at the Hilton Hotel have low registration; but hope people with company booths will take over those.

Dave also congratulated Linda and Sound Transit on achieving the NIGP National OA4 Award for Agency Accreditation, and noted that ST is the first Agency in the NW to achieve this award. Dave also congratulated the four Sound Transit Procurement & Contracts staff who achieved their CPPB certification.
