Ultimate Frisbee is one of the fastest-growingyouth sports in the country, and has grown internationally to more than 100 countries. The International Olympic Committee has recently recognized Ultimate and is now considering it for an Olympic sport.
North Texas area players have been playing Ultimate at an organized Winter League in the DFW area since the early 1980′s. The Dallas Ultimate Association was founded with the intent to promote the playing of Ultimate in North Texas. The DUA is a tax-exempt 501(c)(7) organization that helps to facilitate growth in the DFW Metroplex
Currently, the DUA includes the following key groups of players and supporters:
• More than 400 youth players (12-18) representing 11+ middle and high schools;
• More than 400 college and university players from nine local teams;
• More than 800 league and tournament participants (23 – 65);
• More than 250 club and professional ultimate athletes
We serve our community by offering an abundance of educational and competitive programs for youth players. We also attract the attention of many out-of-region Ultimate players and organizations. For the past 2 years and returning again in 2015, the DUA has hosted the USAU UltimateNational Tournament in Frisco, TX. Over 2,000 Ultimate players participate in this event from across the country.
