LONG BEACH MIDDLE SCHOOL COLLECTS MORE THAN 27,000 POUNDS OF FOOD

TO WIN JUSTIN BIEBER CONCERT FROM 92.3 NOW

After Month Long Food Drive, LONG BEACH MIDDLE SCHOOL Raises More Food Than150 Participating Tri-State Area High Schools And MiddleSchools

December 21, 2009 – New York, NY.92.3 NOW ( afternoon host“TicTak” (3p-7p) announced today at 6:00 pm, along with special guest Justin Bieber, the winning school of the station’sNovember Food Drive.Long BeachMiddle School in Lido Beach, NY raised the most food, weighing in at 27,014 lbs., and will ultimatelywin a live concert with singing sensation Justin Bieber at their school.More than 150 high school and middle schools in the tri-state area took part in the food drive. Close contenders in the contest were Rye Middle School with 10,646 lbs. of food and Bridgewater-RaritanMiddle School, collecting 10,357 lbs.

“When Long BeachMiddle School students heard about the 92.3 contest with Justin Bieber, they sprung into action,” said Audrey Goropeuschek, Principal of Long Beach Middle School. “Students made over 100 signs, stood for hours on the weekends outside local markets asking shoppers to donate food, spent their allowance money on canned food, raided their parents’ pantry cabinets and carried heavy back packs full of donations to school each day in November.I am so proud that our students will help feed many Long Beach families during the holiday season.”

The school that raised the largest weight in food donations was promised an in school concert with Justin Bieber. The charitable event was orchestrated by radio station 92.3 NOW. Together, this food drive raised over 150,000 lbs of food, which will provide over 100,000 meals for the following food banks: Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Food Bank For New York City, Food Bank for Westchester, Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Island Harvest, Long Island Cares, Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, and The Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, Inc.
