Abstract:
Auditory Integration Training (AIT) is considered one of the recent modalities for rehabilitation of Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorders (ADHD) and Learning Disability. The Theory of this training is based on the fact that those children have problem in sensory integration process through which the normal individual responds to sensory stimuli (Auditory, Visual, Touch,..). The deficit of sensory integration is supposed to be due to hypersensitivity to those stimuli.
In the past 10 years, there was an accumulation of research data demonstrating that children treated by (AIT) exhibited noticeable improvement in behavior, self-esteem, independence and eye contact. Children showed also some improvement in drawing, spontaneous play, and response to simple and complex commands, improvement in language discrimination and comprehension & language processing as well as better word finding skills
Children listen to electronically processed music during two thirty-minute sessions per day over a ten-day period using a specialized audio system designed to improve attention and focus.
Traditionally, there are two types of filters that are used to modify music for AIT purposes: dynamic filters and static filters. The filters are set depending on an accurate audiological evaluation and according to every chlid's condition

Abstract:
Central auditory processing is the utilization of acoustic information by the auditory system. An auditory processing deficit is present when the individual is not able to make full use of the heard signal. Indeed, a child with central auditory processing disorder (CAPD) will suffer a deficiency in one or more of the auditory skills. This deficit is usually reflected on the child’s communicative skills, and will also affect his educational performance resulting in learning disability.
Typically, a remediation program for CAPD should be tailored according to the child’s deficit(s). Three cornerstones form the bases for CAPD remediation: Environmental modification, use of assistive listening devices and selective training for defective ability(ies). The latter can be done formally, through audiologic equipment and computer-based programs, or in an informal way.
