Paramount Pictures’ “Last Holiday”in Theaters Nationwide on January 13

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Food Network and the new film Last Holiday from Paramount Pictures ring in the New Year with Queen Latifah and Emeril Lagasse this January. Two all-new specials will premiere in one fabulous night of movies and food of love! Emeril Live: Food of Love with Queen Latifah kicks off the night with Emeril preparing a special menu for friend Queen Latifah, as she joins him on set.

Then, in Food Network Goes Hollywood, viewers will get an inside look into the upcoming film from Paramount, Last Holiday. The network sent its top food experts to consult on the food for the movie, which features Queen Latifah as Georgia Byrd, who lives a small life tucked inside big dreams. A shy cookware salesperson for a New Orleans retail outlet, she handles knives and skillets with the flair of a master chef. When Georgia learns her days are numbered, she throws caution to the wind and embarks on a dream holiday vacation to a grand resort in Europe. Thinking she has nothing to lose, Georgia undergoes a metamorphosis that brings her out of her shell and to the attention of a venerated chef (Gerard Depardieu).

The Food Network Kitchens handles everything from recipe testing, writing, editing, food preparation and coordination for all the network’s shows, to developing recipes for cookbooks and FoodNetwork.com. The network sent a team of three culinary experts to the set of Last Holiday - Susan Stockton, Vice President, Culinary Productions; Jay Brooks, Senior Food Stylist; and Krista Ruane, Food Stylist. They wrote, tested and prepared all the recipes in the film (please see enclosed cookbook for recipes) and taught Queen Latifah knife skills and how to “act” like an established cook. And to top it all off, Emeril Lagasse even makes a special appearance in movie!

Last Holiday will be released in theaters nationwide on January 13, 2006. Paramount Pictures presents an Imagemovers/Laurence Mark production, a Wayne Wang film, Last Holiday. Directed by Wayne Wang from a screenplay by Jeffrey Price & Peter S. Seaman based upon a screenplay by J. B. Priestley, the film is produced by Laurence Mark and Jack Rapke. Executive producers are Robert Zemeckis, Steve Starkey, Richard Vane, Peter S. Seaman, and Jeffrey Price. The film stars Queen Latifah, LL Cool J, Timothy Hutton, Gerard Depardieu, Alicia Witt, and Giancarlo Esposito. The film has been rated PG-13 for some sexual references.

FOOD NETWORK GOES HOLLYWOOD

Premieres: Saturday, January 7th at 9PM

When Hollywood wanted to do a movie about food, they called in the experts. In the new movie Last Holiday, Queen Latifah stars as a food lover who dreams of being a top chef. Food Network teaches the star how to “act” like an established cook (watch out for flying knives!), and goes on set in both the U.S. and Europe to help the filmmakers style decadent dishes that become a critical character in the movie. It’s a behind-the-scenes (and behind-the-dishes) look at the making of a yummy motion picture.
