South and East Asia Country Study

Your class will be taking a class trip to an Asian country. Your teacher has asked you to create an informational travel document for your fellow students. You may choose how to present the information.

Pictures- should include: Map of Country, Flag of country, population pyramid, and at least two pictures per section.

Text- should include a short explanation for each area listed under each subheading. Some items will have one sentence descriptions, but others should be a paragraph or more.

Bibliography- Your bibliography should be handed in with the rubric as a separate Word document, and must be formatted correctly with all necessary information. A list of web addresses will NOT be accepted. You may list the URL for pictures right under the picture and not make a separate bibliography entry for each picture.

1. Create a Power Point presentation (paper booklets only by special circumstance with teacher permission.) / full credit
2. Create a Wiki or other webpage on your country with all relevant information. / +10 points total
3. Add multimedia elements to your presentation. (music, video, or artifact) / + 5 points
4. Bring in a food item from your country / up to +10 points total

Ø  Climate (what will the weather be like when you travel there? When is best time to go there?)

Ø  Land and land forms (what types of terrain will you be driving through?)

Ø  Water and water forms (what lakes, rivers or oceans might you see?)

Ø  Natural resources (what things exist naturally there that the country needs/uses?)

Ø  Religion(s) (will you find a place to worship there?)

Sample 5-day Itinerary-- Include a schedule for a 5 day trip to your country. Assume you start in the country – do not include travel time in itinerary.*

Ø  Include at least 3 locations during the trip, and at least 1 site per day.

Ø  Include hotel choices for each location.

Ø  Include at least 5 restaurants to try.

Ø  Map for your trip—draw in route.

Include lots of pictures in your itinerary! At least one picture of each site, hotel, and restaurant.

Have fun. Make this an opportunity to dig in and learn about another part of the world. Add things to a list of things you want to see or do someday (your “bucket list”).
